The upcoming Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion Chaos Rising is already shaping up to be one of the most talked-about sets of 2026, and new details surrounding its retailer-exclusive promo cards are giving collectors and competitive players even more reasons to pay attention.
According to newly revealed information, three exclusive promo cards will be distributed through select retailers as purchase bonuses for customers spending at least $15 on Pokémon products. The featured cards are Ho-Oh, Keldeo, and Delphox, with each tied to specific retail chains depending on region.
While retailer-exclusive promos are nothing new for the Pokémon TCG, the competitive utility of some of these cards appears to be significantly stronger than many previous promotional releases.
Where Players Can Get Each Promo Card
The Ho-Oh promo card will reportedly be available through stores connected to GameStop branding, including GameStop in the United States and EB Games locations in Canada and Australia. The card is also said to feature a special GameStop stamp on the artwork, making it immediately recognizable for collectors.
Keldeo will be distributed through Hot Topic, Barnes & Noble, and BoxLunch in the United States. While it may not dominate competitive play, its limited retail availability will likely make it highly desirable among collectors aiming to complete the full Chaos Rising promotional lineup.
The Delphox promo card is expected to be available through Best Buy in the United States, Mr. Toys and ToyMate in Australia, and JB Hi-Fi in New Zealand.
These retailer partnerships continue Pokémon’s recent strategy of spreading promotional cards across multiple chains, encouraging collectors to visit different stores rather than securing all exclusives from a single location.
Ho-Oh and Delphox Could Impact Competitive Play
Among the three revealed promos, Ho-Oh and Delphox are already attracting attention from competitive players.
Ho-Oh’s featured move, Flames of Revival, reportedly allows players to recover up to three Pokémon from the discard pile. Chaos Rising is also introducing several major additions to the Pokémon TCG itself, led by Mega Greninja ex as the expansion’s featured cover Pokémon.
The set is expected to include additional Mega Evolutions such as Mega Dragalge and Mega Floette, continuing Pokémon’s push to reintroduce Mega mechanics into the modern TCG environment.
One of the most anticipated chase cards in the set is reportedly an all-gold Mega Greninja ex Hyper Rare card, which is already expected to become one of the expansion’s most valuable collectibles.
Chaos Rising will also feature six Special Illustration Rare cards, including artwork-focused versions of several Mega Pokémon alongside cards such as Cinccino ex, AZ’s Tranquility, and Roxie’s Performance.

The Pokémon Legends: Z-A influence on the TCG continues to expand as well, with new Trainer cards featuring Emma and Philippe reportedly joining the set.
At the same time, longtime fans are seeing the return of familiar names like Roxie through the new Roxie’s Performance Trainer card, adding another nostalgic element to the expansion.
Another mechanic already generating discussion is the Special Red Card Item, which forces opponents to shuffle their hand back into their deck before drawing only three replacement cards.
