Steam Free Weekend Adds Five Games Until June 22

Steam has launched a new Free Weekend promotion, giving players the opportunity to try five different titles without purchasing them. The event runs until June 22, while discounts on the participating games will remain available until June 25 for those who decide they want to continue playing.

Unlike free-to-keep promotions, these titles are only temporarily accessible. Once the event ends, players will need to purchase the games to keep playing.

Five Games Available During the Steam Free Weekend

This latest Free Weekend features a mix of strategy, management, horror, simulation, and sports games.

Stellaris

Released in 2016, Stellaris remains one of the most popular grand strategy games available. The science-fiction title offers hundreds of hours of gameplay and has maintained a strong reputation among players. With its deep empire-building mechanics and endless possibilities, it is unlikely that players will experience everything the game has to offer during the short free period.

During the sale, Stellaris has been discounted from $49.99 to $14.99.

Two Point Museum

Two Point Studios’ newest management title allows players to build and manage their own museums while sending teams on expeditions to uncover new exhibits. The game has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from players and offers dozens of hours of content.

The title is currently discounted from $29.99 to $20.09.

Dead by Daylight

Behaviour Interactive’s long-running multiplayer horror game also joins the Free Weekend. The asymmetrical title pits four survivors against a killer and continues to receive regular content updates nearly a decade after launch.

Dead by Daylight currently carries a discounted price of $7.99, down from its usual $19.99.

MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries

Fans of giant robots can jump into MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries, which features both a story campaign and four-player cooperative gameplay. Unlike some of the other titles included in the promotion, dedicated players may actually be able to complete the main campaign before the free period comes to an end.

The game is available at a reduced price of $7.49 instead of $29.99.

Speedball

Early Access title Speedball rounds out the list. The action-sports hybrid has earned mixed-to-positive reactions from players and focuses on competitive gameplay rather than a traditional story mode.

Players interested in continuing after the weekend can purchase it for $8.99, down from $29.99.

Bonus Free-to-Keep Game

In addition to the Free Weekend lineup, players can permanently claim Tell Me Why throughout the remainder of June. The narrative adventure, developed by the creators behind Life Is Strange, will remain in players’ libraries once claimed before the promotion expires.

Steam Players Have Plenty to Try

With five games available to test until June 22 and discounts continuing through June 25, Steam users have plenty of opportunities to discover something new before deciding whether to make a purchase.
