Pokémon GO August Community Day Delayed by One Day

Niantic has made a small adjustment to its Pokémon GO event calendar, moving the August Community Day to a new date. While the change is minor, players who were planning around the original schedule may want to update their calendars.

August Community Day Moved to August 16

According to the updated schedule, Pokémon GO’s August Community Day will now take place on Sunday, August 16. The event was originally scheduled for the previous day, making this a one-day delay.

Niantic previously revealed the Community Day dates for June, July, and August before the current season began. The June and July events remain unaffected, with only August receiving a change.

Event Details Still Awaited

At the time of writing, Niantic has not released the full details for the August Community Day. Traditionally, Community Day events run from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM local time, and players can expect a similar schedule unless an official announcement states otherwise.

Important details such as event bonuses, exclusive attacks, and increased Shiny rates have yet to be revealed.

Players Voted for the Featured Pokémon

Before the event date change, Niantic allowed players to vote on which Pokémon would headline the August Community Day. The four candidates included:

  • Tadbulb
  • Nickit
  • Fidough
  • Yamper

The winner of the vote has not yet been announced, leaving players waiting to discover which Pokémon will receive the spotlight.

More Information Expected Soon

At this stage, the date adjustment appears to be the only confirmed change. No gameplay modifications have been announced, and all major details surrounding the event are still pending.

As August approaches, Niantic is expected to reveal the winning Pokémon, event bonuses, and any exclusive moves associated with the Community Day.

For now, trainers should simply mark Sunday, August 16 on their calendars and keep an eye out for further announcements.
