Nintendo Reveals New Switch 2 Pokémon Pokopia Bundle

Nintendo has officially announced a brand-new Switch 2 console bundle themed around Pokémon Pokopia, though there is a catch for international fans. The bundle is currently confirmed exclusively for Australia and New Zealand, with no announcements for Europe, North America, or Asia at this time.

The special edition package is scheduled to launch on June 5, 2026, which also marks the one-year anniversary of the Switch 2 console itself. Nintendo AU/NZ revealed the promotion as part of its ongoing strategy to push regional hardware bundles tied to major first-party releases.

Another Regional Bundle Strategy From Nintendo

Nintendo has continued leaning heavily into hardware bundles throughout the Switch 2 generation. Previous promotions included packs featuring titles such as Mario Kart World and a Super Mario Galaxy double-pack, though some of those bundles later disappeared from official storefronts despite retailers still carrying leftover stock.

The new Pokémon Pokopia bundle follows that same pattern. While the packaging strongly suggests the game will be included digitally, Nintendo has not officially confirmed whether buyers will receive a digital download code or a physical game cartridge.

This is not unusual for Nintendo, as previous bundle releases have varied depending on the region. Some territories received physical copies while others only got digital access codes inside the box.

Pricing Still Unknown Ahead of Launch

Nintendo has not revealed official pricing for the bundle yet. However, based on previous Switch 2 hardware promotions, analysts expect the package to land close to the standard console price with only a modest discount included for the game itself.

Earlier Switch 2 bundles generally offered savings equivalent to around $20 USD compared to purchasing the console and game separately. Whether Nintendo follows the same pricing structure here remains unclear.

There are also growing discussions surrounding possible hardware price increases later in 2026 due to ongoing component supply concerns, including reported RAM shortages affecting the wider tech industry. Nintendo has not confirmed any upcoming price hikes, but speculation continues to grow across the gaming market.

Will Other Regions Get the Bundle?

At the moment, Nintendo has only confirmed the Pokémon Pokopia bundle for Australia and New Zealand. That does not necessarily mean other regions are permanently excluded, however.

Nintendo has a history of testing regional promotions before expanding them globally depending on demand and retail performance. Fans outside AU/NZ may still see the bundle arrive later in the year, especially if Pokémon Pokopia performs strongly during launch.

For now, Australian and New Zealand players should keep June 5 marked on their calendars as Nintendo prepares another major Switch 2 promotion centered around one of its biggest franchises.
