Pokémon GO Players Frustrated by Bug Preventing Candy Rewards at Power Spots

Pokémon GO players are encountering a puzzling bug preventing them from earning Candy rewards at Power Spots, removing one of the key bonuses tied to these special locations. Power Spots, introduced alongside the new Dynamax feature, are essentially the equivalent of Gyms for Dynamax Pokémon battles, making this glitch a significant setback.

The Dynamax feature, which has been long rumored within the Pokémon GO community, was finally launched by Niantic as part of the Max Out season. However, despite the excitement surrounding its release, the feature has received mixed reactions from players. Now, a newly reported bug is adding to the frustrations.

In a post on the popular Pokémon GO subreddit, The Silph Road, user Clarita8 raised concerns about a glitch affecting Candy rewards at Power Spots. According to the post, players are not receiving the Candy bonus after placing their Pokémon at these locations, which are supposed to reward Candy based on their Pokémon’s participation in battles. Despite attempts to resolve the issue—such as restarting, reinstalling the app, and using different Pokémon—the bug persists. Even contacting Niantic’s support team has yielded no solution.

Similar to Gyms, Power Spots allow players to station their Pokémon to assist other trainers in battles, earning them Candy for every battle they contribute to. With Dynamax battles now requiring Candy to level up moves, the inability to collect this resource is hampering players’ progress, especially as they prepare to face powerful Dynamax Pokémon like Beldum. Several other users chimed in on Reddit, confirming that they too are facing the same problem.

One player even tested the bug by coordinating with friends to participate in a Dynamax battle after placing their Pokémon at a Power Spot, only to find that the number of battles their Pokémon participated in still registered as zero. This widespread issue has left many wondering when Niantic will address and fix the bug.

As the Pokémon GO community waits for a resolution, frustration continues to mount, especially with challenging Dynamax battles on the horizon. For now, it seems trainers will need to be patient, as Niantic has yet to provide an official fix or statement regarding the issue.
