Arrowhead Game Studios has confirmed that every Helldivers 2 player will receive the M-103 Supply Fast Recon Vehicle (FRV) for free starting in October. Unlike previous giveaways, which mainly focused on cosmetic capes, this reward gives players a fully usable combat vehicle.
The free unlock gives every Helldiver access to one of the game’s most useful support vehicles, regardless of whether they participated in earlier events.
A free vehicle instead of another cosmetic
The M-103 Supply FRV first appeared during the Omens of Tyranny update in December 2024. Players later gained temporary access to it during the Census Thunder Campaign in June, where it served as a special Stratagem while fighting the Voteless forces of the Illuminate.
Following the campaign’s success, the in-game story explained that Super Earth had begun mass-producing the vehicle. Players who took part in the June campaign could already unlock it using Requisition Slips.
Now, Arrowhead is removing that requirement by granting the vehicle to everyone for free in October.
What makes the M-103 Supply FRV special?
The M-103 is the third light-armored Fast Recon Vehicle introduced in Helldivers 2 and expands on previous models with extra support features.
Players can expect:
- An automated defensive turret.
- A supply rack carrying up to eight resupplies.
- Ammunition and equipment support for teammates.
- Improved battlefield logistics during longer missions.
While the earlier M-102 FRV focused primarily on transporting up to five Helldivers, the M-103 adds significant support capabilities that help squads stay supplied without constantly calling in additional Stratagems.
Part of Arrowhead’s bigger live-service plans
The free vehicle is not arriving on its own. Arrowhead continues to reshape Helldivers 2’s live-service structure to keep the Galactic War feeling fresh.
Recent changes include:
- Replacing traditional Major Orders with Galactic War Campaigns.
- Introducing Planet Warfronts, which add rogue-lite inspired objectives and dynamic planetary battles.
- Improving campaign rewards to encourage player participation.
The free M-103 Supply FRV fits into that strategy by giving every player access to meaningful gameplay content instead of limiting rewards to cosmetics.
A welcome reward for the community
Live-service games often reserve new gameplay features for paid expansions or premium battle passes. Helldivers 2 continues to take a different approach by offering major gameplay additions alongside its optional Warbonds.
Giving every player access to the M-103 Supply FRV helps keep the community on equal footing while making future Galactic War Campaigns more accessible for both new and returning Helldivers.
With the October rollout approaching, players will soon have another powerful tool to spread Managed Democracy across the galaxy.
