Just days after launching on Steam, Nova Swarm developer Eirik of Tiny Foundry has shared a heartfelt message thanking players for their support and acknowledging the positive reception the game has received. Among the highlights of the announcement was a special mention of GamingHQ’s review, which the developer described as “very generous.”
Early Reception Has Been Strong
According to Eirik, the first public Steam user reviews have all been positive so far, with the game earning six out of six positive reviews at the time of his message. For a solo-developed project, the strong launch reception appears to have been both encouraging and humbling.
The developer specifically pointed to GamingHQ’s review, which praised Nova Swarm as “one of the most enjoyable arcade shooters I have played in years” and concluded with the words, “An absolute joy to play.”
For a small independent title, receiving recognition from players and gaming websites alike can play an important role in helping new audiences discover the game.
More Updates Are Already in Development
Despite the positive launch, Tiny Foundry has made it clear that Nova Swarm is far from finished. Eirik emphasized that the project will continue receiving active support and improvements based on player feedback.
Current priorities include:
- Improved onboarding for new players.
- Better explanations for controls and dodge mechanics.
- Enhanced boss readability.
- User interface improvements.
- Sector challenge leaderboards.
- Additional gameplay balancing and tuning.
The message reinforces the idea that Nova Swarm is intended to grow over time rather than remain static after release.
A Personal Thank You From the Developer
Eirik also expressed gratitude to everyone who has played the game, shared feedback, left reviews, or simply visited the Steam page. The developer stated that seeing players connect with the game’s quick runs, boss encounters, ship unlocks, enemy variety, and hidden Codex details has meant a great deal.
For many indie developers, launch week can be one of the most stressful moments of development. Judging by the response so far, Nova Swarm’s first days on Steam have given Tiny Foundry plenty of reasons to remain optimistic about the future.
