Black Ops 7 Season 3 Update Targets Stability, Fairness, and Anti-Cheat Improvements

Raven Software and Treyarch have released a new update for Season 3 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, addressing a range of gameplay issues just one week after the season’s launch.

Following a strong reception to Season 2, Season 3 introduced a wave of new content, including operators, game modes, cosmetics, and a fresh Battle Pass. The update also builds on that momentum by refining core gameplay systems and tackling several player-reported issues.

Anti-Cheat Improvements Strengthen Ricochet System

Alongside gameplay fixes, Activision has expanded its Ricochet Anti-Cheat system. The latest update introduces improved detection methods, additional security layers, and updated attestation messaging.

These changes are aimed at reducing cheating across multiplayer modes and reinforcing competitive integrity during Season 3, particularly in Ranked Play where fairness is critical.

Multiplayer Fixes Address Exploits and Competitive Issues

The April 10 update focuses heavily on multiplayer stability and balance, closing exploits and improving match reliability.

On the map Cliff Town, collision issues have been smoothed out to eliminate unintended sightlines that gave players unfair advantages. Meanwhile, Beacon received a fix for an exploit that allowed players to leave the intended playspace.

Ranked Play also received important corrections. A UI bug that caused certain camos to display without unlock requirements has been resolved. More importantly, a frustrating issue where players could lose Skill Rating after a tied overtime win in Overload has now been fixed, restoring proper reward logic.

Zombies Mode Receives Targeted Bug Fixes

Zombies mode also benefits from several gameplay and UI improvements.

The Aether Blade has been adjusted so that its first use no longer consumes a charge if it fails to hit an enemy. This change ensures more consistent behavior during combat.

In addition, the Dark Ops “Off Meta” Calling Card now tracks correctly, resolving progression issues for players attempting to complete challenges.

A fix has also been deployed for the Mule Kick augment, which previously could prevent players from controlling Klaus under certain conditions. This issue had already been addressed in a prior hotfix on April 9.

UI Fixes Improve Clarity Across Modes

User interface improvements are another focus of this update. In Zombies, Ashwood Survival save files now display the correct preview image, eliminating confusion when managing saved progress.

These smaller fixes contribute to a smoother overall experience, particularly for players who rely on clear UI feedback during progression and customization.

A Stability-Focused Update for Season 3

The April 10 patch is a focused effort to stabilize Season 3 following its content-heavy launch. By addressing exploits, fixing Ranked Play inconsistencies, improving Zombies mechanics, and strengthening anti-cheat systems, the update reinforces a more balanced and reliable experience.

While not a major content drop, this patch plays a critical role in maintaining player trust and ensuring that Season 3 remains competitive and enjoyable across all modes.
