A new classification listing has reignited speculation around Rayman’s future, hinting that Ubisoft may be preparing a 30th Anniversary release for the iconic platforming series.
While Ubisoft has not made any official announcement, the timing of the leak — combined with earlier rumors and recent company turmoil — has placed Rayman firmly back in the spotlight.
Classification Listing Appears in Australia
An entry discovered on the Australian Classification Board dated January 22, 2026 lists “Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition” for both PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch.
The title received a G rating, citing only very mild violence — a classification that closely matches previous Rayman releases and supports the idea of a family-friendly platformer rather than a reboot with major design changes.
No gameplay details, release window, or description were included in the listing.
Confusing Publisher Information Explained
One unusual detail in the classification entry is the publisher attribution.
The listing names Atari as publisher, while U&I Entertainment appears as the filer. This has caused confusion among fans, but this setup is not uncommon for classification records.
In many cases, these listings reflect physical distribution partners rather than the actual IP owner or development studio. Ubisoft still retains the Rayman license, and there is currently no indication that ownership has changed hands.
Leak Matches Earlier Rayman Rumors
The classification aligns with long-running reports that two Rayman-related projects were in development under the internal codenames:
- Steambot — previously associated with a possible Rayman Legends remake
- Iceman — believed to be tied to a broader anniversary-style release
Industry reporting has suggested these projects may have been consolidated into a single anniversary edition, with claims that the release could arrive “very, very soon.”
The newly surfaced classification strengthens those earlier signals.
Leak Emerges During Ubisoft’s Turbulent Period
The timing of the listing is particularly notable.
It appeared just days after Ubisoft announced a major internal restructuring that included:
- Multiple project cancellations
- The termination of a near-complete Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake
- Delays to an Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake
- A sharp stock decline, reaching a near 15-year low on January 22
Against that backdrop, a lower-risk anniversary title based on a beloved franchise could represent a safer short-term release strategy.
Rayman’s Recent Presence on Switch
Although the franchise has been dormant in terms of new releases, Rayman has not fully disappeared.
In December 2025, Rayman 2: The Great Escape was added to the Nintendo 64 app for Switch and Switch 2 for Expansion Pack subscribers, quietly reintroducing the series to modern platforms.
That addition now appears more meaningful in hindsight.
What This Leak Really Means
At this stage, the classification listing does not confirm development status, scope, or release timing. However, classification entries typically appear close to launch, making the discovery difficult to ignore.
If accurate, a Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition would mark the franchise’s first major return in years — and potentially test whether Ubisoft is willing to invest again in one of its most beloved properties.
