A Critical Fix for One of Endgame’s Biggest Problems
A new update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has resolved one of the most frustrating problems surrounding the game’s Endgame mode. Until now, players who were unexpectedly disconnected from a match could lose massive amounts of progress, including their Combat Rating levels. This caused widespread frustration among the community, especially for those with unstable connections or regional power issues.
Developer Treyarch Studios has now implemented a protection system designed specifically to prevent this loss. The community has responded overwhelmingly positively to the change.
Endgame: A New PvE Extraction Experience
Endgame is one of Black Ops 7’s biggest additions, offering a PvE extraction-style mode where players enter Avalon alongside 31 others to complete objectives, gather gear, and exfil. For many, it provides a fresh alternative to Multiplayer and Zombies while offering strong progression opportunities, including fast weapon leveling and challenge completion.
The mode launched with solid praise, but the disconnect issue quickly overshadowed many of its strengths.
Treyarch Adds Disconnect Protection to Combat Rating
The latest update introduces a snapshot system that records a player’s Combat Rating when they enter an Endgame match. If a disconnect occurs, players will start their next Endgame session at the Combat Rating they had when the previous match began.
This change ensures that accidental internet drops or game crashes no longer erase hours of progress. However, because Endgame is extraction-based, failing to exfil during a match will still result in standard loss of loot and rating as intended.
The issue had become a major pain point for the community. Some players reported losing dozens of levels due to sudden Wi-Fi drops, with others being reset back to zero multiple times in a single day. One player who relies on unstable regional power even noted that power cuts made them too afraid to continue playing the mode.
With the new fix, many fans have expressed relief and gratitude, calling the update both necessary and long overdue.
Perfect Timing as Endgame Becomes Available to All Players
The fix arrives just days after Treyarch unlocked Endgame for the entire Black Ops 7 playerbase. Previously, the mode was restricted behind completion of the game’s Co-Op Campaign, but due to strong feedback, the studio opened it to all players starting November 21.
With Endgame now fully accessible, the new progression protection system ensures more players can jump in without fear of losing their hard-earned levels due to circumstances beyond their control.
A Major Improvement for Season 1’s Launch Window
This update should significantly improve player confidence heading into the early weeks of Season 1. With disconnect protection now active, faster progression, and Endgame available to all players, Treyarch appears committed to addressing fan concerns quickly as the new season approaches.
