Trevor’s Actor Steven Ogg Says He Feels “Nothing” About GTA 6

Grand Theft Auto 6 may be the most anticipated game of the decade, but Trevor’s actor from GTA 5, Steven Ogg, has admitted that he feels “nothing” about its upcoming release. The actor, who brought Trevor Philips to life in Rockstar’s 2013 blockbuster, made the remarks in a recent convention interview.

“I’m Not a Gamer”

When asked how excited he is for GTA 6, Ogg gave a blunt response:

“I feel nothing inside. I’m not a gamer.”

He explained that he has never played a single video game in his life — not even Grand Theft Auto 5, the title that skyrocketed him to gaming fame. Instead, Ogg emphasized that his passion lies in reading, recalling that when a fan once urged him to play GTA 5, he suggested they try Dostoevsky’s Crime and Punishment instead, for the same reason: because it’s excellent.

Fans Split on His Detachment

Ogg’s comments have sparked a familiar mix of reactions from the community. While some fans shrugged off the revelation, others expressed disappointment, given how strongly Trevor remains tied to the GTA legacy. Franklin’s actor, Shawn Fonteno, even stepped in with a lighthearted interjection during the discussion, reminding fans that the GTA 5 cast continues to engage with the fandom in different ways.

This isn’t the first time Ogg has highlighted his detachment from gaming. Earlier this year, the 51-year-old actor joked about wanting Trevor to cameo in Grand Theft Auto 6 just to be immediately killed off, underscoring both his dark humor and his distance from the gaming world.

GTA 6 Still on Track

Despite Ogg’s lack of enthusiasm, excitement for Grand Theft Auto 6 continues to soar. Following its most recent delay, Rockstar’s next open-world epic is scheduled to launch on May 26, 2025, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. A PC version has yet to be officially confirmed, though Rockstar’s history suggests it may not arrive until late 2027 or early 2028. Pre-orders, edition details, and pricing remain unannounced, leaving fans eagerly awaiting more news.

Whether or not Steven Ogg ever picks up a controller, his portrayal of Trevor Philips will remain one of the most unforgettable roles in gaming history — even as the spotlight now shifts to the new protagonists of Grand Theft Auto 6.
