Monster Hunter Wilds is set to receive its highly anticipated second major content patch, Title Update 2, on June 30, according to leaked information from the PlayStation Store. Although Capcom has not officially confirmed the release date, the leak surfaced just days before the Capcom Spotlight event scheduled for June 26, where the update was originally expected to be revealed.
Released in February, Monster Hunter Wilds enjoyed an explosive launch, selling over eight million copies within its first three days. However, its momentum has slowed in recent weeks as players voiced concerns over PC optimization issues and a noticeable lack of new monsters, which have contributed to a dip in the game’s Steam review score.
Title Update 2 aims to address some of those concerns by bringing back two fan-favorite monsters, including the long-requested Lagiacrus. The update will also introduce new event quests and rewards, such as the collectible Doshaguma mask.
A key addition is the introduction of layered weapons, allowing players to customize the look of their gear without changing their stats or performance. This feature is expected to offer more visual personalization without impacting gameplay balance.
The update will also deliver a free gesture set, new paid cosmetics, and other customization-focused items designed to expand player expression.
Capcom is likely banking on this update to help revitalize community engagement and recover from recent criticism. With more content, returning monsters, and enhanced customization, Title Update 2 could mark a turning point for Monster Hunter Wilds as it heads into the second half of the year.
More details are expected to be shared during the Capcom Spotlight on June 26.
