Fortnite Wallet Cards Let Players Ditch Credit Cards for Good

Epic Games is gearing up to launch Wallet Cards, a new payment option that will finally allow Fortnite players to purchase real-money bundles, Battle Passes, and other exclusive content without needing a credit card. These physical cards are expected to hit stores later this year and will serve as a much-requested alternative to current payment methods.

While Fortnite remains free-to-play, the game’s financial success largely stems from the sale of cosmetics, emotes, and V-Bucks. V-Bucks are the primary in-game currency used to unlock skins and accessories, and players can earn a modest 200 V-Bucks with each Battle Pass. However, adding more V-Bucks typically requires a credit card purchase—either directly online or via a physical V-Bucks card.

But Wallet Cards are about to shake things up. Instead of directly granting V-Bucks, Wallet Cards will add real money to a player’s Epic Games account, offering flexibility beyond just Fortnite. Players will be able to use this balance to buy anything on the Epic Games Store, including content for other games like Rocket League and Fall Guys.

According to images shared by Fortnite insider HYPEX, Wallet Cards will come in denominations ranging from $15 to $150. However, there’s one caveat: smaller in-game bundles such as the popular Starter Pack (around $5) won’t be easily accessible without spending extra. Still, any remaining balance will remain safely stored in the user’s Epic account, ready for future use.

Visually, the Wallet Cards resemble current V-Bucks cards, but fans should be aware of one key difference—Wallet Cards don’t feature V-Bucks icons and won’t deposit any in-game currency directly. Instead, they top up a user’s Epic Games wallet, which can then be used at their discretion.

While Epic hasn’t announced a precise release date, Wallet Cards are expected to roll out later in 2025. This could mark the beginning of broader payment options across all Epic-published titles, giving players more freedom—and security—when making purchases.
