In a dramatic turn of events, hundreds of gamers have gained early access to “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.” Initially believed to be confined to a few select individuals, the number of players has surged, thanks to jailbroken PlayStation 4 consoles.
Leaked footage of the game, all originating from the PlayStation 4, suggests that the version circulating is a BETA set to be officially available to the public at the end of August. The spread of access has expanded rapidly, with one Discord server alone hosting over a hundred players at one point. The server went offline briefly to address bugs caused by the new BETA update but has since resumed operation.
Notably, these early players are engaging in full multiplayer lobbies, indicating that they are not just limited to playing against bots.
Activision, the game’s publisher, is grappling with how to curb this unauthorized access. For now, the company is issuing DMCA takedowns to remove leaked content from online platforms.
A developer from the team expressed disappointment over the leaks, saying, “It really sucks to see our big reveal ruined like this. We were all excited to show it off in a big and special way.” The official multiplayer reveal of “Black Ops 6” is scheduled for the CODNext event at the end of August, just before the BETA’s public release.
