Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Confirms Shipment Release Date

One of Call of Duty’s most iconic multiplayer maps is making another comeback. Infinity Ward has officially confirmed that Shipment will arrive in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on October 27, 2026.

The popular multiplayer map will become available just four days after the game’s full release on October 23. Players won’t have to wait until Season 1 to experience its famously chaotic combat.

Shipment Returns Just Days After Launch

Shipment has remained a fan favorite since its original appearance in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in 2007.

Known for its incredibly small layout, shipping containers, and nonstop gunfights, Shipment offers a completely different experience from traditional multiplayer maps.

Infinity Ward has confirmed that the returning map will feature its classic layout, with updated visuals and gameplay improvements.

This version takes place at a Russian harbor, surrounded by water and concrete residential buildings.

Despite the visual changes, players can expect the familiar close-quarters combat that made Shipment famous.

Perfect for Weapon Leveling and Camo Grinding

Shipment’s compact design makes it particularly attractive to players looking to level up their weapons quickly.

Unlike larger multiplayer maps, where players often spend considerable time searching for enemies, Shipment delivers almost constant action.

Players can expect several advantages:

  • Fast-paced combat with minimal downtime.
  • Frequent opportunities to earn weapon XP.
  • Easier progression toward weapon camouflage challenges.
  • Short engagement distances that favor SMGs and shotguns.
  • Constant action for players who enjoy aggressive gameplay.

However, Shipment isn’t everyone’s favorite map.

Its small size frequently results in frustrating spawn situations, explosive spam, and deaths occurring almost immediately after respawning.

For some players, that chaos is exactly what makes the map enjoyable.

Modern Warfare 4 Launches With Plenty of Multiplayer Maps

Shipment won’t be included in the initial multiplayer selection.

Instead, Modern Warfare 4 launches with 12 traditional 6v6 maps, alongside several additional multiplayer environments.

The launch lineup includes:

  • 12 Core 6v6 multiplayer maps.
  • Three large-scale Ground War maps supporting 32v32 combat.
  • Four dedicated 2v2 Gunfight maps.
  • Kill Block, a modular map supporting multiple Gunfight formats.

Shipment will expand the multiplayer selection on October 27.

Infinity Ward has also confirmed that the map will support traditional Core and Hardcore multiplayer modes.

More Content Arriving Before Season 1

Shipment is only the beginning of the game’s post-launch content plans.

Additional multiplayer modes will arrive throughout the following weeks.

The early arrival of Shipment gives players another option for progressing through weapon levels before the first season begins.

Is Shipment Becoming Too Familiar?

Shipment’s return will undoubtedly please players who enjoy fast-paced multiplayer action. However, its repeated appearances also raise an interesting question.

Should Infinity Ward continue bringing back the same maps, or should more attention go toward creating new multiplayer favorites?

Shipment has appeared in several Call of Duty titles, and its popularity often overshadows newer maps.

With its arrival scheduled only four days after launch, some players may quickly abandon the new environments in favor of familiar territory.

Nevertheless, Shipment remains one of the franchise’s most recognizable multiplayer experiences.

Whether players love its chaotic gameplay or absolutely despise its spawn system, October 27 will bring another opportunity to experience the madness.
