Nintendo has revealed another bonus for players purchasing The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. This time, the company is celebrating the franchise’s 40th anniversary with an exclusive digital wallpaper.
Players who pre-order the digital edition or purchase it before November 23, 2026, at 11:59 PM PT will qualify for the bonus.
A Special Wallpaper Celebrating 40 Years of Zelda
The anniversary wallpaper features the official 40th anniversary logo for The Legend of Zelda. Behind it sits a collage of artwork from several classic games throughout the franchise’s history.
Nintendo will provide multiple versions of the wallpaper, allowing fans to use it on desktop computers and mobile devices.
Eligible buyers will receive an email through their registered Nintendo Account address after the promotional period ends. The message will contain instructions for downloading the wallpaper.
Ocarina of Time Remake Already Has Several Pre-Order Bonuses
The anniversary wallpaper joins an expanding collection of promotional items for the upcoming remake.
Depending on the retailer and region, players may receive additional collectibles, including:
- A special textured foil cover, while supplies last.
- Slipcovers inspired by the original Nintendo 64 release.
- Replicas of the three Spiritual Stones.
- A replica of the original Nintendo 64 game box.
- Collectible keychains, coasters, and wallets.
- Exclusive pins, cards, and commemorative coins.
Not every retailer offers the same bonuses. Players interested in physical collectibles should check their local stores before placing an order.
Nintendo Celebrates Zelda’s 40th Anniversary
The original The Legend of Zelda launched in Japan in 1986, making 2026 a milestone year for Nintendo’s long-running adventure franchise.
Ocarina of Time remains one of the most recognizable entries in the series. Its original Nintendo 64 release helped establish many gameplay elements that influenced later 3D adventure games.
The remake’s promotional campaign also reflects the nostalgia surrounding the original release. Several bonuses directly reference the Nintendo 64 edition, giving longtime fans additional reasons to revisit Hyrule.
Is a Digital Wallpaper Enough?
While a free anniversary wallpaper is a welcome extra, it is unlikely to convince someone to purchase the remake on its own.
Physical collectibles such as the Spiritual Stones and replica Nintendo 64 packaging arguably offer more appeal to dedicated collectors.
Nevertheless, the wallpaper provides digital buyers with something to commemorate the anniversary without requiring a separate purchase.
Players interested in claiming it should ensure their Nintendo Account email address is correct and complete their qualifying purchase before the November 23 deadline.
