Three classic Toy Story games have reportedly disappeared from the PlayStation Store. The removals happened in late September 2026 and also affect their availability through PlayStation Plus Premium.
Sony has steadily expanded its collection of older games on PS4 and PS5. The Classics Catalog includes titles from the original PlayStation, PlayStation 2, and PSP eras. Many of these games also receive useful modern features, including quick saves, rewind support, and improved rendering.
Some classic games are available outside the subscription as well. Players can buy select titles directly from the PlayStation Store and keep access without maintaining a PlayStation Plus Premium membership. However, three Toy Story games now appear to have vanished from both options.
Three Toy Story Games Reportedly Delisted
The affected titles are Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue, Toy Story 3, and Toy Story Racer. All three games were previously available through Sony’s Classics Catalog.
Their removal means new players can no longer purchase the games digitally through the PlayStation Store. They also appear to be unavailable through PlayStation Plus Premium, reducing the number of Toy Story classics accessible on modern PlayStation consoles.
At the time of writing, Sony has not provided a clear public explanation for the removals. That leaves licensing as one possible reason, although there is currently no confirmation that licensing issues caused the delistings.
Licensed games often face additional complications when companies bring older releases back to modern storefronts. Rights involving characters, publishers, music, or other content can make long-term digital availability more complicated.
Previous Owners May Still Have Access
A delisting does not always mean that existing owners lose access to a game. In many cases, players who purchased a title before its removal can continue downloading it through their game library.
However, the situation can differ between games and regions. Players who previously bought any of the affected Toy Story titles should therefore check their PlayStation library before assuming access has disappeared completely.
The bigger problem affects anyone who planned to buy the games later. Unless Sony or the rights holders restore the listings, there is currently no way for new customers to purchase these versions from the PlayStation Store.
Another Reminder About Digital Game Preservation
The removal also highlights an ongoing problem with digital game preservation. A title can return decades after its original release, only to disappear again when licensing agreements or other circumstances change.
Sony’s Classics Catalog has made many older games easier to access without original hardware. That remains one of the strongest benefits of PlayStation Plus Premium for retro players. However, delistings show that the catalog itself can change at any moment.
For Toy Story fans, the disappearance of three games at once is particularly noticeable. Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue remains one of the better-known games based on the franchise, while Toy Story Racer offers a very different kart-racing experience. Toy Story 3 also gained a following thanks to its Toy Box mode.
There is always a possibility that the games could return. Digital titles have disappeared and resurfaced before after licensing agreements were renewed or storefront issues were resolved. For now, though, these three Toy Story classics appear to have left the PlayStation Store.
