US Army Battalion Reportedly Offers GTA 6 Four-Day Pass as Reenlistment Incentive

The hype surrounding Grand Theft Auto 6 has apparently reached the US military. A flyer reportedly connected to a US Army battalion claims soldiers could receive a four-day pass specifically covering the launch weekend of Rockstar Games’ highly anticipated title.

There is one major condition attached to the offer: soldiers must reenlist.

According to the circulating flyer, soldiers serving with the 9th Brigade Engineer Battalion (9th BEB) at Fort Stewart, Georgia, could receive four days away from duty from November 20 through November 23, 2026. That would give eligible soldiers plenty of time to jump into GTA 6 immediately after its scheduled November 19 release.

However, the US Army has not officially confirmed the legitimacy of the flyer.

GTA 6 Used as a Reenlistment Incentive

The flyer was reportedly shared online by US Army WTF! Moments and quickly attracted attention because of its unusual incentive.

Soldiers would reportedly need to sign a reenlistment contract between August 1 and November 14 to qualify for the four-day pass.

If legitimate, the promotion effectively uses one of the biggest gaming releases of the year as an incentive to encourage soldiers to extend their military service.

The timing is certainly deliberate.

GTA 6 is currently scheduled to release worldwide on Thursday, November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The proposed pass would then begin on November 20 and continue through November 23.

That potentially gives soldiers four days to explore Rockstar’s latest open world without immediately worrying about returning to regular duties.

Flyer Reportedly Signed by Battalion Commander

The flyer reportedly carries the approval of Lieutenant Colonel Ryan Hodgson, commanding officer of the 9th Brigade Engineer Battalion.

Hodgson assumed command of the battalion on July 13, 2026, meaning he has only been in the position for a little over a month.

The reported promotion therefore appears to be one of the more unusual incentives introduced during the early stages of his command.

Using video games as part of military recruitment or retention efforts is not entirely surprising. Gaming has become deeply connected with younger audiences, including many people currently serving in the armed forces.

Still, directly offering several days away from duty around the launch of one specific game certainly stands out.

GTA 6 Hype Continues to Grow

There are few games capable of generating the level of attention currently surrounding GTA 6.

Rockstar Games has spent years developing the follow-up to Grand Theft Auto 5, while anticipation has continued to grow with every trailer, screenshot, leak, and announcement.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has also claimed that GTA 6 Ultimate Edition pre-orders have surpassed those of the Standard Edition.

The Ultimate Edition is more expensive but reportedly includes exclusive content and access to shops unavailable in the regular version. Exact sales figures or the difference between both editions have not been revealed.

Regardless, the reported US Army flyer provides another example of just how enormous the GTA 6 launch is expected to become.

A military battalion potentially planning its reenlistment incentives around the game’s release date is something very few video game launches could achieve.

There Is One Potential Problem

The entire incentive appears to depend on GTA 6 actually launching on November 19.

Despite Rockstar and Take-Two continuing to target that date, speculation surrounding another possible delay has not completely disappeared.

If GTA 6 were delayed into 2027, the dates listed on the flyer would suddenly lose their purpose.

It remains unclear whether soldiers who reenlisted under the promotion would still receive the four-day pass or whether the dates could be changed to match a new GTA 6 release date.

That question becomes particularly important when the game itself is being used as part of the incentive.

US Army Has Not Confirmed the Flyer

For now, some caution is necessary.

The US Army has not officially confirmed that the Fort Stewart flyer is legitimate, nor has it publicly stated whether the reported four-day GTA 6 pass will actually be honored.

Until the Army or the 9th Brigade Engineer Battalion confirms the promotion, the flyer should therefore be treated as an unverified report rather than an official military policy.

Still, the fact that such a flyer is circulating says plenty about the enormous expectations surrounding Rockstar’s next game.

GTA 6 is not simply shaping up to be another major video game release. If this promotion proves legitimate, some soldiers may literally be reenlisting with a four-day trip to Vice City waiting for them.
