More alleged details surrounding Pokemon Winds and Waves have surfaced, this time offering an early look at two characters who could play major roles in Generation 10.
New concept artwork reportedly connected to the upcoming Pokemon Winds and Waves prequel anime appears to reveal both the region’s Professor and Champion. However, the designs shown in the artwork may not represent how these characters eventually appear in the games.
New Pokemon Winds and Waves Character Artwork Leaks
According to information shared by Centro Leaks, the leaked concept artwork features three characters connected to the upcoming prequel anime.
The artwork reportedly includes:
- A young man with blue hair, believed to be the region’s new Pokemon Professor.
- A silver-haired man wearing a Hawaiian-style shirt, reportedly the region’s Champion.
- A young girl carrying what appears to be a Chansey-like plush toy.
While all three characters could have important roles in the wider story, much of the current attention has focused on the Professor and Champion.
Interestingly, both appear considerably younger than the versions reportedly planned for the mainline games.
The New Professor Could Be Connected to Time Travel
The biggest detail surrounding the Professor involves his age.
According to the leak, the Professor shown in the prequel anime is a younger version of the character players will eventually meet in Pokemon Winds and Waves.
This difference reportedly connects directly to a time-travel element within the story.
Previous leaks surrounding Generation 10 have suggested that time, regional history, and ancient events could play significant roles in the games. If the latest information is accurate, the Professor could be directly involved with that mystery.
The prequel anime may therefore serve as more than promotional material. It could establish important events that happened before the games while explaining how the Professor eventually becomes involved with time travel.
Pokemon Winds and Waves Champion Also Appears Younger
The silver-haired character is reportedly the region’s Champion.
His Hawaiian-style clothing also appears to fit the tropical and island-inspired direction repeatedly associated with Pokemon Winds and Waves.
However, like the Professor, this apparently isn’t the exact version players will meet during Generation 10.
The Champion will reportedly be older when he appears in the games.
That suggests a noticeable amount of time could separate the events of the anime from the main story. It could also give players an opportunity to see how one of the region’s strongest Trainers reached his eventual position.
Whether he is already Champion during the anime remains unclear.
Who Is the Girl Holding the Plush?
The third character remains considerably more mysterious.
The artwork depicts a young girl holding a plush toy resembling Chansey. Leak discussions have suggested that she could have some connection to a character responsible for protecting the mysterious Seed Pokemon.
Previous Winds and Waves leaks have placed the Seed Pokemon near the center of the game’s story and regional mythology.
However, there currently isn’t enough information to establish exactly who the girl is or how important she will become.
Prequel Anime Could Explain Generation 10’s Legendary Pokemon
The rumored prequel anime is reportedly designed to explore the history and mythology surrounding the Winds and Waves region.
That reportedly includes additional information about the region’s Legendary Pokemon.
If accurate, the anime could establish events that directly influence the games rather than simply telling an unrelated side story.
The Professor’s reported connection to time travel makes this particularly interesting. Game Freak could use the anime to show historical events before allowing players to experience their consequences during the games.
It could also explain why younger versions of important characters appear in the leaked artwork.
Concept Art Doesn’t Guarantee Final Designs
As with the other information surrounding Pokemon Winds and Waves, these leaks should still be treated cautiously.
Concept artwork can change substantially during development. Character clothing, hairstyles, ages, colors, and even narrative roles can be altered before production finishes.
The artwork therefore provides an interesting glimpse at what Game Freak and its partners may be planning, but it doesn’t guarantee that these exact designs will appear in the finished anime or games.
The reported time-travel storyline also remains unconfirmed.
Pokemon Winds and Waves Is Expected in 2027
Pokemon Winds and Waves is currently expected to arrive sometime in 2027, introducing the tenth generation of the Pokemon series.
Fans may have a lengthy wait before many of these leaked details receive official confirmation.
Major information about the games isn’t currently expected until Pokemon Day in February 2027, which would give The Pokemon Company an obvious opportunity to reveal the region, characters, Pokemon, and major gameplay features.
Until then, leaks could continue filling the information gap.
If the latest artwork proves legitimate, however, fans may already have received their first look at two of Generation 10’s most important characters — and another hint that time travel could play a major role in Pokemon Winds and Waves.
