Players still enjoying Battlefield Hardline on consoles are running out of time to experience the game’s online multiplayer. Electronic Arts has confirmed that online services for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Battlefield Hardline will officially end on June 22, 2026.
The shutdown marks another chapter in EA’s ongoing effort to retire online services for older titles as the company continues focusing resources on newer games and live-service experiences.
Battlefield Hardline Loses Console Multiplayer Support
Released in 2015 by Visceral Games, Battlefield Hardline took the long-running Battlefield franchise in a different direction by focusing on police and criminal conflicts instead of traditional military warfare.
While the game divided some longtime Battlefield fans at launch, it developed a dedicated community over the years thanks to its unique game modes, urban combat environments, and fresh approach to the series’ formula.

Battlefield Hardline is not the only EA title scheduled to lose support this month.
Shortly after Hardline’s closure, the Apple version of Plants vs. Zombies HD is also set to be retired on June 24, 2026. Earlier this year, Anthem officially reached the end of its online lifespan, while other legacy EA titles have also seen services discontinued.
These moves suggest that additional legacy games could face similar announcements in the coming months.
