StarRupture Reveals Ziplines, New Resources, and Major Production Upgrades in Upcoming Update

The developers behind StarRupture have released a new developer blog offering an early look at the game’s first major content update. While the team confirmed that a release date is not ready to be announced yet, the preview outlines several major gameplay additions coming to Arcadia-7, including a new transportation system, new resources, expanded production chains, and upgraded machinery.

According to the update preview, the upcoming patch will introduce both new exploration opportunities and deeper industrial progression for players building their operations on the hostile planet.

Zipline Transportation System

One of the most noticeable additions arriving in the update is the Zipline, a fast transportation method designed to help players traverse the large environments of Arcadia-7.

Players will first need to unlock the Zipline through the Corporate Terminal before constructing it across the landscape. Once deployed, the system functions similarly to Drone Rails already present in the game, but instead of transporting materials, the Zipline carries the player directly across connected lines.

This allows players to quickly move between remote production facilities, exploration zones, and industrial hubs without relying entirely on traditional travel methods.

The feature is intended to make navigating large factory networks faster and more efficient as the scale of operations grows.

New Territories Beyond the Radiation Barrier

The upcoming update will also expand exploration by opening new areas beyond the radiation barrier on Arcadia-7.

These newly accessible regions introduce two additional resources that will play a major role in late-game production:

  • Goethite
  • Powerium

Both resources require specialized extraction technology and new industrial infrastructure. Their introduction significantly expands the crafting and manufacturing systems already present in the game.

Developers confirmed that the update will include over 40 new items and production recipes, allowing players to build more advanced production pipelines and fulfill additional corporate shipping contracts.

New Buildings and Industrial Infrastructure

To support the new materials, several new structures will be introduced.

Powerium Processing Chain

Powerium extraction and processing will require a dedicated industrial setup:

  • Oil Extractor – Used to harvest Powerium directly from Powerium deposits
  • Refinery – Processes raw Powerium into usable industrial products

These buildings are designed to expand the automation systems players rely on to maintain large production networks.

Goethite Extraction and Processing

Goethite introduces its own extraction and refinement chain:

  • Laser Drill – A specialized drilling machine used to mine Goethite deposits
  • Pyro Forge – Refines raw Goethite into advanced industrial components

Together, these systems add additional layers to the resource economy and require players to rethink how they design their production layouts.

Development Station and Machine Upgrades

Another major addition coming with the update is the Development Station, a new facility designed to push industrial progression further.

This station allows players to upgrade certain buildings and machines into more powerful, higher-tier versions. These upgraded variants are designed for larger operations and improved efficiency.

Examples mentioned by the developers include:

  • Ore Excavator v.2
  • Orbital Cargo Launcher v.2

The system essentially acts as a technological progression hub, unlocking enhanced equipment as players advance through the game.

More Information Still to Come

Although the development team has shared a significant preview of what is being worked on, they emphasized that the official release date for the first content update is still being finalized.

The developers say they are focusing on delivering the update alongside a large batch of fixes and improvements, suggesting the patch will address both new content and stability issues.

More details about the update — including the launch timeline — are expected in future developer posts.
