Pokémon GO Launches Official Raid and Gym Map

Pokémon GO has officially introduced a web-based map that allows Trainers to view Raids, Gyms, and select gameplay locations outside of the in-game interface. The new tool provides players with a broader overview of nearby activity, making it easier to plan raid sessions and coordinate with others before heading out.

This marks a notable shift for the game, as players have historically relied on community-driven trackers and third-party tools to monitor raid activity.

What the Official Map Shows

The new online map focuses on core battle-related features that drive cooperative and competitive play.

Active and Upcoming Raids

Trainers can view ongoing Raid Battles and see which Gyms are preparing upcoming raids. This makes it easier to organize groups and avoid unnecessary travel between inactive locations.

Gym Locations

All visible Gyms are displayed clearly on the map, allowing players to plan defensive strategies, Gym takeovers, and coordinated team efforts more efficiently.

Select Event Locations

Depending on active events, certain special locations and gameplay points may also appear, helping players track limited-time activities more effectively.

Why This Update Matters

Raid coordination has long been one of Pokémon GO’s biggest logistical challenges, especially in high-density areas where multiple Gyms are active at once. An official browser-based map improves visibility and reduces dependence on unofficial trackers that may be outdated or inconsistent.

By centralizing raid and Gym information through an official platform, Pokémon GO strengthens its ecosystem and gives Trainers a more reliable planning tool as major events and raid rotations continue throughout the year.

If expanded further, this map could become a key part of how players organize Community Days, Mega Raid cycles, and large-scale in-game events.
