HoYoverse has confirmed that four former employees have received prison sentences after investigations and court proceedings related to bribery. According to an official translated statement published on February 6, the individuals were convicted of accepting bribes as non-state personnel.
The reported sentences include one term of one year and four months, two terms of one year and three months, and one term of six months. The company stated that the case followed internal probes that were later handled through formal legal channels.
A fifth former marketing staff member was also investigated for attempting to secure benefits for a personal business venture. HoYoverse reported the findings to authorities, placed the individual on regional anti-fraud blacklists, and imposed a permanent ban on future employment with the company.
Expanded Enforcement Against Corruption and Misconduct
Alongside the sentencing announcement, HoYoverse released an extensive blacklist of former partner companies allegedly connected to bribery-related conduct. The move reinforces the developer’s stated zero-tolerance stance toward corruption, embezzlement, and unfair business practices.
The company framed these actions as part of a broader effort to maintain a transparent commercial environment and protect long-term trust in its operations. This approach reflects a wider pattern of enforcement seen in recent years, including legal action against cheat developers, lawsuits targeting leakers, and financial claims tied to unauthorized content distribution.
Ongoing Growth Across Major Franchises
The legal developments arrive during a period of continued expansion for HoYoverse’s live-service portfolio. Genshin Impact remains the company’s flagship title with a long-term development roadmap, while Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero continue to receive regular updates and live content support.
Additional projects are in development, and recent activity across the ecosystem includes in-game seasonal events, crossover collaborations, upcoming patches, and scheduled livestream announcements that may introduce future banner or content changes.
Strengthening Control as the Ecosystem Expands
By combining legal enforcement, anti-fraud measures, and aggressive protection of intellectual property, HoYoverse appears focused on tightening operational control while its global player base and product lineup continue to grow. The recent convictions signal that internal compliance and external enforcement will remain central to the company’s long-term strategy.
