Rayman Franchise Teases Bright Future as Developers Break Four-Year Silence

Ubisoft has given Rayman fans a reason to celebrate, as the official Twitter account for the franchise has posted its first new message in four years. The announcement not only reflects on the series’ legacy but also hints at an exciting future for the beloved platformer.

A Legacy Spanning Three Decades

Rayman first debuted in 1995, developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, and quickly grew into a full-fledged franchise. Over the years, the series has expanded to include five core entries and multiple spin-offs, including the popular Raving Rabbids sub-series. While the franchise has been a staple of platforming history, the last mainline game, Rayman Legends, launched back in 2013.

With the series celebrating its 30th anniversary, Ubisoft has chosen this moment to reconnect with fans and highlight the enduring impact of Rayman across generations.

Official Twitter Returns with Special Message

The official Rayman Twitter account recently updated its profile and released a three-minute video message. The video, originally part of the Rayman Alive fan event held on September 1, featured Loic Gounon, brand producer for Rayman, and Christophe Heral, the composer of Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends.

Gounon confirmed that the franchise will be revisiting its history in the coming months, sharing behind-the-scenes insights, developer interviews, and concept art. He also revealed that Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan are working together on the next Rayman project. While the game is still in development, Gounon tempered expectations by explaining that news on the release will not come soon.

Heral also expressed his appreciation for the community’s support and performed a short live musical segment as part of the event, delighting fans with his iconic compositions.

Hope for the Future

Although it may be several years before the next Rayman game is ready, the update has reignited excitement in the community. For many fans, simply knowing that Ubisoft is actively working on a new entry and continuing to honor the franchise’s history is enough to restore optimism.

After more than a decade without a new mainline game, Rayman’s return is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated revivals in modern gaming.
