Mob Entertainment has officially announced that Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 will be launching on consoles on June 25, bringing the latest chapter of its unsettling survival horror series to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms. Console users can now wishlist the game via the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, and Nintendo eShop.
Originally released for PC in January 2025, Chapter 4—titled Safe Haven—continues the haunting tale of the Playtime Co. toy factory, with a dark narrative following the aftermath of Poppy’s reveal about the Hour of Joy, a mass slaughter event where the factory’s toys turned on their creators. The upcoming console release is priced at $19.99, consistent with its PC version on Steam.
New Horrors and Characters Await
Safe Haven introduces players to new, colorful, and twisted characters. The most dangerous among them is Yarnaby, a rainbow-hued lion-like yarn creature that relentlessly hunts the player. Alongside Yarnaby, players will encounter Doey the Doughman, a seemingly friendly but unpredictable toy, and The Doctor, an antagonistic AI program embedded in the factory’s systems.
Chapter 4 also resolves the cliffhanger involving fan-favorite Kissy Missy, who was last seen under attack during one of Chapter 3’s climactic scenes. Fans of the series can expect more revelations and intense moments as the story continues to unravel.
A Rocky Chapter, But Hope for Console Improvements
Despite the anticipation, Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 has been the lowest-rated entry in the franchise so far. While Chapters 1 and 3 continue to enjoy “Very Positive” Steam reviews, Chapter 4 currently sits at a “Mixed” rating, with only about two-thirds of players recommending it. The most frequent complaints center around bugs and performance issues, many of which have persisted months after launch.
Mob Entertainment has a history of patching earlier chapters after launch, so many fans are hopeful that the console versions will offer a more polished experience. With the wider console audience stepping into Safe Haven for the first time, the upcoming release could be an opportunity to redeem Chapter 4’s reputation.
