In a new trailer, Activision confirmed that the Call of Duty x Squid Game collaboration will officially launch on Friday, January 3. The trailer reveals that the event will bring an array of Squid Game-themed content, including operator skins, weapon blueprints, limited-time modes, and more.
While exact details of the limited-time modes have not been officially disclosed, the trailer teases the inclusion of the iconic “Red Light, Green Light” game featured in Squid Game. In this mode, players must run from one side of the map to the other but must freeze in place whenever “red light” is announced—or risk elimination.
The trailer also provides a sneak peek at the various cosmetic items available during the event. Fans will recognize the red jumpsuits worn by the show’s guards, as well as the outfit of the enigmatic Front Man, among other designs. Though Activision has not confirmed the exact means of obtaining these items, it is highly likely that multiple Squid Game-themed bundles will be available for purchase in the Call of Duty store starting January 3.
The timing of this collaboration aligns with the recent release of Squid Game Season 2, which debuted on December 26 with seven new episodes now streaming on Netflix. The second season picks up three years after the events of the first, following Seong Gi-hun as he re-enters the deadly games alongside a fresh roster of participants. Fans eager for more won’t have to wait as long for the next chapter, with the third and final season slated for a 2025 premiere.
This crossover marks another bold addition to Call of Duty’s growing list of collaborations, offering a unique fusion of survival drama and first-person action. Don’t miss out when the Call of Duty x Squid Game event launches on January 3!
