Pokémon is continuing its 30th-anniversary celebrations with another major crossover, this time teaming up with Starbucks Japan.
The limited Pokémon × Starbucks collaboration launches on September 30, 2026, bringing a surprisingly large collection of merchandise alongside a special Pikachu-themed drink.
Unfortunately for Pokémon fans elsewhere, this one appears to be staying firmly in Japan.
Pokémon × Starbucks Collection Includes 41 Items
This is not a small merchandise drop. The Pokémon × Starbucks collection includes a total of 41 different products.
The range includes mugs, tumblers, aprons, stickers, keychains and various coffee-making accessories. Instead of focusing heavily on Pokémon battles or traditional game artwork, the collection takes a much more casual approach.
Illustrations created by Hikaru Ichijo show Pokémon enjoying everyday situations, fitting naturally with the lifestyle theme of the Starbucks collaboration.
Pikachu and Eevee are naturally among the stars of the collection, while the original Kanto starter Pokémon also make an appearance.
That means Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle fans have something to look forward to as well.
Pokémon Goes for a More Casual Style
One of the more interesting parts of the collaboration is its overall presentation.
Pokémon merchandise regularly leans heavily into recognizable game artwork, Poké Balls, battles and other familiar elements from the franchise. The Starbucks collection instead focuses on Pokémon simply existing alongside everyday life.
It makes sense for a collaboration built around coffee cups, tumblers and other items people may actually use rather than simply display.
Of course, whether collectors will actually use those limited-edition mugs instead of protecting them like museum artifacts is another question entirely.
Pikachu Honey Cream Latte Is Coming to Starbucks
The merchandise is only part of the collaboration.
Starbucks stores in Japan will also introduce a limited Pikachu-themed Honey Cream latte.
The drink will come with a special sticker, adding another collectible element to the promotion. Unlike the merchandise, however, the latte will only be available through physical Starbucks locations in Japan.
The merchandise itself will be sold online through Starbucks Japan.
That creates two separate parts to the collaboration: collectors can purchase the merchandise online in Japan, while anyone wanting the actual Pikachu drink will need to visit a participating Starbucks store.
Japan Keeps Getting the Cool Pokémon Stuff
For international Pokémon fans, there is one obvious catch.
There are currently no announced plans to bring the Pokémon × Starbucks collection outside Japan.
It continues a familiar situation for Pokémon collectors, where some of the franchise’s most interesting merchandise and collaborations remain exclusive to the Japanese market.
Given the worldwide popularity of both Pokémon and Starbucks, an international version would certainly have an audience. For now, though, fans outside Japan will have to admire this particular collaboration from a distance.
Another Pokémon 30th Anniversary Crossover
The collaboration also arrives during an important year for the franchise.
Pokémon is celebrating its 30th anniversary throughout 2026, resulting in numerous special products, events and partnerships.
A Starbucks collaboration fits particularly well with Pokémon’s continued expansion beyond video games, trading cards and animation. Pokémon has increasingly become a lifestyle brand capable of appearing on everything from clothing and household products to food and drink promotions.
The Pokémon × Starbucks Japan collection continues that trend with products designed to feel useful even without their collectible value.
The collaboration officially begins on September 30, 2026.
