Xbox players have four games to check out for free this weekend as part of the latest Xbox Free Play Days promotion.
Running through September 27, the latest Free Play Days lineup includes a mixture of games for Xbox Game Pass subscribers and titles that are completely Free for All. That means two of the games can be played without an Xbox Game Pass subscription.
As always, this is a limited-time promotion. Players can download the games and play as much as they want during the Free Play Days period, but access will disappear once the promotion ends unless they purchase the games.
Xbox Free Play Days Games – September 24 to September 27
Four games are included this weekend:
- The Escapists 2 – Xbox Game Pass required
- Young Suns – Xbox Game Pass required
- PGA Tour 2K25 – Free for All
- Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 – Free for All
The biggest advantage this weekend is the inclusion of two Free for All titles. PGA Tour 2K25 and The Division 2 can be downloaded and played by Xbox users without needing an active Game Pass subscription.
Meanwhile, The Escapists 2 and Young Suns are available through Free Play Days for eligible Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
The Escapists 2
The Escapists 2 puts players behind bars and challenges them to figure out increasingly elaborate ways to escape.
Players need to follow prison routines while secretly gathering materials, crafting equipment and preparing an escape plan. Different prisons introduce their own layouts, security systems and challenges.
It can also be played with friends, making coordinated prison breaks considerably more chaotic.
An Xbox Game Pass subscription is required to access The Escapists 2 through this weekend’s Free Play Days promotion.
Young Suns
Young Suns is the second title reserved for Xbox Game Pass subscribers during the September 24-27 promotion.
Its inclusion gives subscribers another full game to experiment with over the weekend without committing to a purchase.
Like The Escapists 2, access through Free Play Days will end once the promotion concludes on September 27.
PGA Tour 2K25
Golf fans get one of the better opportunities this weekend with PGA Tour 2K25 being included as a Free for All title.
Unlike the first two games, players do not need Xbox Game Pass to participate.
The latest entry in the PGA Tour 2K series offers licensed professional golfers, courses, career progression and competitive multiplayer alongside its traditional golf gameplay.
Considering sports games are not always easy to judge from trailers alone, a free weekend gives players a decent opportunity to determine whether PGA Tour 2K25 is worth adding permanently to their library.
The Division 2
The final game is also arguably the biggest offering of the weekend.
Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is available as another Free for All title, meaning Xbox players can jump into Ubisoft’s open-world looter shooter without an Xbox Game Pass subscription.
Set in Washington, D.C. following a devastating pandemic, The Division 2 combines third-person shooting with RPG progression, loot, character builds and cooperative gameplay.
There is a substantial amount of content available, so completing everything during a single Free Play Days weekend is unrealistic. However, several days should provide more than enough time to discover whether its progression and combat systems are appealing.
How to Find Xbox Free Play Days
Players can access the promotion directly through their Xbox console.
On Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S, head to the Microsoft Store, open the Subscriptions section and look for the Free Play Days collection.
Eligible games can then be downloaded directly to the console.
Keep in mind that these are temporary free games rather than permanent giveaways. Unless a game is separately offered as a free-to-keep promotion, access ends alongside Free Play Days.
Any progress and achievements earned during the promotion are generally tied to the player’s Xbox account, making it possible to continue after purchasing the full game.
Four Games, Two Without Game Pass
This week’s selection is particularly useful for Xbox owners without Game Pass.
While The Escapists 2 and Young Suns remain tied to a subscription requirement, PGA Tour 2K25 and The Division 2 are open to everyone.
Players have until September 27 to take advantage of the promotion before the latest Xbox Free Play Days weekend comes to an end.
