Final Fantasy 14 players are getting another chance to add one of the MMORPG’s most recognizable multi-seat mounts to their collection. The Regalia Type-G is returning as part of the Final Fantasy 15 crossover event, and players can unlock it without spending real money.
There is one catch: the event will only be available for a limited time.
The Final Fantasy 15 collaboration returns on September 24 and runs until October 13. That gives players just under three weeks to complete the necessary content and secure the Regalia Type-G before it disappears again.
The Regalia Type-G Returns to Final Fantasy 14
The Regalia Type-G is based on the vehicle driven by Noctis and his companions in Final Fantasy 15. Rather than simply being another cosmetic mount, the Regalia can carry up to four players simultaneously.
Multi-seat mounts are considerably less common than standard mounts in Final Fantasy 14. Many require substantial amounts of grinding, difficult achievements or purchases through the game’s online store.
That makes the returning Regalia particularly attractive for players who have yet to unlock a four-seat mount.
It can also be useful when playing with newer players. Instead of everyone needing their own mount and flying independently, several party members can pile into the Regalia and travel together.
And, of course, driving around Eorzea in Noctis’ luxury convertible remains one of the more unusual ways to travel.
A Nocturne for Heroes Returns September 24
The Regalia Type-G is connected to the returning A Nocturne for Heroes crossover event.
The event brings Final Fantasy 15 protagonist Noctis Lucis Caelum into the world of Final Fantasy 14, where players will complete a special questline alongside him.
Players who complete the crossover content gain access to several Final Fantasy 15-themed rewards.
However, anyone primarily interested in the Regalia should make sure they have enough time to finish the event requirements before October 13.
Once the collaboration ends, the associated quests and rewards will no longer be normally obtainable.
The Regalia Isn’t Permanently Available
This isn’t the first time Square Enix has brought A Nocturne for Heroes back to Final Fantasy 14.
The crossover has returned several times since its original appearance, giving players who missed previous runs another opportunity to complete it. However, Square Enix does not keep the event permanently active.
That means missing the 2026 run could result in another potentially lengthy wait.
There is no guarantee regarding when the event will return again after October 13.
Four-Seat Mounts Are Still Valuable
Final Fantasy 14 has accumulated a huge collection of mounts over the years, ranging from traditional Chocobos to considerably stranger options.
Players can travel around Eorzea using everything from creatures and mechanical vehicles to oversized novelty mounts.
Multi-seat mounts are different.
Being able to carry several party members makes them useful beyond simply showing off a rare collectible. Four-seat mounts are particularly convenient when exploring with friends, helping new players travel around or simply organizing group screenshots.
Normally, getting one can require considerably more effort than unlocking an ordinary mount.
The Regalia therefore remains a valuable reward despite being an older crossover item.
Don’t Leave It Until the Last Day
Players interested in the Regalia Type-G should avoid waiting until the final hours of the event.
A Nocturne for Heroes begins on September 24 and ends on October 13, giving players a limited window to complete the crossover and obtain its rewards.
Veteran players who already unlocked the Regalia during an earlier version of the event won’t need another one, but anyone who previously missed the crossover now has another opportunity.
For newer Final Fantasy 14 players in particular, this is one limited-time event worth checking before it disappears again.
