The collaboration itself appears relatively small so far. A teaser shows Peely fishing before The Deer from 99 Nights in the Forest appears nearby. However, for some players, the controversy surrounding Roblox has overshadowed the crossover almost immediately.
Players Are Angry About the Roblox Connection
The criticism is less about The Deer and more about the platform behind 99 Nights in the Forest.
Roblox has faced years of criticism over how children can interact with strangers on its platform. Concerns surrounding inappropriate interactions, attempts to move conversations off-platform, moderation, and the ability of predators to target younger users have repeatedly put the company under pressure.
Those controversies have made any major collaboration involving a Roblox experience more sensitive.

Epic Games has not confirmed additional cosmetics, map changes, weapons, quests, or a larger event.
The collaboration is expected around the launch of Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4: Override on August 20.
Epic Games May Have a PR Problem on Its Hands
Fortnite has collaborated with countless franchises, but this crossover demonstrates how partnerships can inherit controversies surrounding the properties and platforms involved.
For players already deeply critical of Roblox, seeing one of its biggest experiences promoted through Fortnite can feel like another major company overlooking those concerns.
