PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers have a busy August ahead of them. Sony is expanding the Game Catalog throughout the month with several major releases, including Helldivers 2, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, Hell is Us, Dying Light 2, and Two Point Museum.
Unlike many previous monthly updates, the new games will not all arrive on the same day. Instead, PlayStation is spreading the additions across August, starting with Helldivers 2 on August 12 and continuing with another wave on August 18 and August 25.
Premium subscribers will also receive two additional classics, including Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams and Disney’s Atlantis: The Lost Empire.

PS Plus Premium Classics
Premium members receive two additional games on August 18:
- Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams
- Disney’s Atlantis: The Lost Empire
Overall, the August selection covers a surprisingly wide range of genres. Players can jump between cooperative shooters, RPGs, survival horror, management games, roguelikes, and open-world adventures.
Helldivers 2 Leads the August Lineup
One of the biggest additions is undoubtedly Helldivers 2, which joined the service on August 12 for PS5.
The cooperative shooter became one of PlayStation’s biggest multiplayer successes following its original launch. Its inclusion in the PS Plus Game Catalog could now introduce another wave of players to the ongoing Galactic War.
For existing players, an influx of new recruits could also breathe additional life into matchmaking as subscribers try the game through their membership.
However, Helldivers 2 is only the beginning of the month’s additions.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Arrives August 18
The next wave begins on August 18 with Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.
The RPG continues the historically inspired approach of its predecessor, placing a heavy emphasis on exploration, combat, player choice, and a grounded medieval setting.
Its arrival gives RPG fans another substantial game to work through without needing to purchase it separately.
On the same day, subscribers can also download Vampire Survivors.
Vampire Survivors offers a very different experience. Its straightforward controls hide an increasingly chaotic survival game built around enormous enemy waves, weapon combinations, upgrades, and repeated runs.
That contrast helps make the August lineup considerably more varied.
August 25 Brings the Biggest Wave
The largest batch arrives on August 25, when another six games join the catalog.
Hell is Us leads that group on PS5. The action-adventure game focuses heavily on exploration and discovery while placing players in a hostile world filled with mysterious creatures and environmental storytelling.
Management fans will instead be able to check out Two Point Museum. The game expands the familiar Two Point formula by putting players in charge of building and managing their own museum.
Meanwhile, Dying Light 2 brings open-world zombie survival into the lineup. Players explore a massive urban environment using parkour while fighting infected creatures and hostile human survivors.
Metro Exodus offers another post-apocalyptic option. Rather than focusing on a single city, the game follows a journey across a devastated Russia while combining survival mechanics, exploration, stealth, and first-person combat.
The August 25 additions are rounded out by Umamusume Pretty Derby: Party Dash, giving subscribers something considerably lighter alongside the month’s darker releases.
Premium Subscribers Get Two Classics
PlayStation Plus Premium members are receiving additional games as part of the Classics Catalog.
Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams arrives on August 18. Originally released for the PlayStation 2, the action game serves as the sixth installment in Capcom’s Onimusha series and takes place years after the events of Onimusha 3: Demon Siege.
The second Premium addition is Disney’s Atlantis: The Lost Empire.
Based on Disney’s 2001 animated movie, the game gives Premium subscribers another older PlayStation title to revisit through modern hardware.
While neither addition carries the same weight as some of the newer Extra games, continued expansion of the Classics Catalog remains important for Premium subscribers who specifically pay for access to older PlayStation titles.
A Strong Month for PS Plus Extra
August is shaping up to be a particularly substantial month for PlayStation Plus Extra.
Helldivers 2 alone gives the catalog a major multiplayer addition, while Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 provides something for players looking for a lengthy RPG. Dying Light 2 and Metro Exodus strengthen the open-world and survival side of the service, while Vampire Survivors offers an easy game to jump into for shorter sessions.
Spreading the releases across several dates should also give subscribers some breathing room instead of dropping the entire catalog update at once.
The final major wave arrives on August 25, making the second half of August especially busy for PS Plus Extra and Premium members.
