PlayStation is positioned to benefit heavily from that demand.
The PS5 already has a huge global install base, and GTA 6 could push another wave of consumers toward current-generation hardware.
PS5 Is Closing In on a Huge Sales Milestone
The PlayStation 5 is also approaching another major milestone.
Sony’s console is moving closer to 100 million units sold worldwide. Reaching that number would further establish the PS5 as one of the company’s biggest hardware successes.
That success makes the current situation especially interesting.

At the same time, PS5 prices remain a major source of frustration.
Sony therefore has plenty to gain, but it also has more to lose if consumer sentiment continues to decline.
A Small Box Change During a Much Bigger PlayStation Debate
The new warnings appearing on PS5 boxes may ultimately represent a relatively minor packaging change.
However, context changes how players view it.
