Pokémon Pokopia Adds Jirachi Event Ahead of August DLC

Pokémon Pokopia players have a new limited-time event to look forward to, as the mythical Pokémon Jirachi is finally making its debut in the game. The special “Wish Upon a Jirachi” event arrives on June 23 and offers exclusive quests, rewards, and a glimpse at what lies ahead for the popular Nintendo Switch 2 title.

Jirachi Arrives for the First Time

The “Wish Upon a Jirachi” event will run from June 23 at 5:00 AM local time until July 8 at 4:59 AM local time. During this period, players will be able to encounter Jirachi for the first time in Pokémon Pokopia.

Interacting with the mythical Pokémon unlocks a special recipe for Wish Notes, beginning a short event questline centered around helping Pokémon and collecting unique rewards.

However, not every town will automatically qualify for the event. Players must have at least one fully rebuilt Pokémon Center, as Jirachi only appears in towns where the Pokémon Center restoration has been completed.

Earn Starry Sky-Themed Decorations

The event introduces a new reward loop involving Wish Notes and Sparkling Wish Notes.

Players can use Wish Notes to fulfill requests from Pokémon around town. Completing these requests grants Sparkling Wish Notes, which can then be presented to Jirachi at the Pokémon Center.

In return, Jirachi rewards players with a variety of Starry Sky-inspired furniture pieces and decorations, allowing them to customize their towns with a celestial theme.

More Content Is Coming

Pokémon Pokopia launched in March and has quickly become one of Nintendo’s biggest successes on the Switch 2. Nintendo and Koei Tecmo have already confirmed that the game will continue receiving both free updates and paid expansions.

One of the most anticipated additions is the Dive mechanic, which will allow players to explore the oceans surrounding their settlements. This feature is expected to play an important role in future content.

First Expansion Arrives in August

The game’s Expansion Pass will begin rolling out in August with its first major paid DLC.

The expansion introduces the ability to build entire underwater towns, opening new possibilities for players who enjoy customization and town management. The upcoming Bubbly Basin content appears to focus heavily on Water-type Pokémon and has already teased the arrival of Manaphy.

Ho-Oh has already joined the game, and Nintendo has indicated that more legendary and mythical Pokémon will continue to arrive through future updates.

Pokémon Pokopia Bundle Heads to Europe

European players will soon have another way to jump into the adventure. On July 2, Nintendo will release a Nintendo Switch 2 bundle featuring Pokémon Pokopia.

The “You Choose” bundle allows buyers to select one of three included games:

  • Pokémon Pokopia
  • Mario Kart World
  • Donkey Kong Bonanza

Australia and New Zealand previously received the bundle on June 5, with Europe becoming the next region to gain access.

A Busy Summer for Pokopia

With Jirachi arriving later this month and the first expansion scheduled for August, Pokémon Pokopia’s content roadmap shows no signs of slowing down. Between new mythical Pokémon, underwater exploration, and town-building features, players can expect plenty of reasons to keep returning throughout the summer and beyond.
