Pokémon GO April Community Day Brings Tinkatink and Gigaton Hammer

Pokémon GO has officially locked in its April 2026 Community Day, putting the spotlight on Tinkatink and introducing its signature move, Gigaton Hammer. The event is set to deliver strong rewards, a rare evolution window, and one of the most anticipated Paldea Pokémon lines to date.

Event Schedule and Core Details

The April Community Day takes place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, running from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time. However, several bonuses and evolution perks will remain active until 9:00 PM, giving players extra time to maximize progress.

Tinkatink will appear far more frequently in the wild, accompanied by significantly boosted shiny odds—estimated to sit between 1 in 20 and 1 in 25. Players may also encounter special background variants, adding additional collector value.

This event is especially important for players who have struggled to obtain Tinkatink, as it is typically locked behind 10 km Eggs, making it one of the rarer recent additions.

Gigaton Hammer and Evolution Requirements

The headline feature of this Community Day is the debut of Gigaton Hammer, a powerful Charged Attack exclusive to the event.

  • Trainer Battles: 130 power
  • Gyms and Raids: 300 power

To unlock this move, players must evolve Tinkatuff into Tinkaton between the start of the event and 9:00 PM local time. Missing this window means missing access to the exclusive attack, at least for now.

Fully evolving the line can cost up to 125 Candy, but the event’s increased Candy rewards help offset that grind significantly.

Bonuses and Quality-of-Life Improvements

Niantic is stacking this Community Day with multiple bonuses aimed at both casual and high-level players:

  • 2× Candy for catching Pokémon
  • 3× Stardust for catches
  • 2× chance of Candy XL for Trainers level 31+
  • Incense duration extended to three hours (excluding Daily Incense)
  • Lure Modules active for one hour, with increased Tinkatink attraction
  • One additional Special Trade (maximum of two for the day)
  • 50% reduced Stardust cost for trades
  • Snapshot encounters that trigger surprise Pokémon appearances

These bonuses make the event highly efficient for both grinding Stardust and preparing competitive Pokémon builds.

Season Context and What Comes Next

The April Community Day is part of the ongoing Memories in Motion season, which runs through June 2, 2026.

This season has already introduced several notable additions and continues to build momentum with new content:

  • Blipbug debut through limited GO Pass access
  • Gigantamax Pikachu arriving on March 28
  • Expected arrivals of Flittle and Espathra

Tinkatink’s Community Day fits directly into this broader rollout, reinforcing Niantic’s continued focus on Paldea-region content and high-impact event rotations.

Why This Community Day Matters

Tinkatink is not just another featured Pokémon—it’s one of the more difficult recent additions to obtain due to its Egg-locked nature. Combined with the release of Gigaton Hammer, this event offers both accessibility and competitive relevance in one package.

For collectors, it’s the best chance to secure a shiny. For battlers, it’s an opportunity to build a Tinkaton with a unique move that could shape future PvP and raid strategies.

With strong bonuses, extended evolution windows, and a rare Pokémon in focus, this Community Day stands out as one of the more valuable events in the current season.
