Borderlands 4 players can currently claim a free reward thanks to a newly released SHiFT code from Gearbox Software. As part of the ongoing 12 Days of Mercenary Day celebration, the code redeems for three Golden Keys, giving players extra chances at high-tier loot.
The SHiFT code is available for a limited time and expires on December 31, 2025, so players are encouraged to redeem it before the deadline.

How to Redeem the Code
Players can redeem the code using either the SHiFT website or directly in-game. The process is straightforward:
- Sign in to an existing SHiFT account or create a free one.
- Make sure the SHiFT account is linked to your preferred platform.
- Redeem the code via Rewards → Code Redemption on the SHiFT website, or
- Enter the code through the in-game SHiFT menu.
Once redeemed, the Golden Keys will be delivered to the linked platform.
Ongoing Mercenary Day Rewards
The 12 Days of Mercenary Day promotion is also distributing several cosmetic items, including the Winter Borderland Vault Hunter Skin and the World on His Shoulders Skin. With the event still ongoing, more free rewards are expected to be released before the end of the year.
Recent Updates and Live Events
A major update released on December 11 introduced additional free endgame content, featuring:

Roadmap and What’s Next
Looking ahead, Gearbox has outlined plans for multiple post-launch additions. Story Packs are scheduled for Q1 2026, with the first introducing a new Vault Hunter named C4SH. Additional Bounty Packs and more Invincible-tier bosses are also planned, aimed at maintaining long-term engagement following a notable decline in post-launch player activity.
