GTA Online has received a major content drop with the release of A Safehouse in the Hills, an update that focuses on high-end properties, new missions, and a brief but notable return of Michael. Alongside the new gameplay content, players can also take advantage of substantial bonuses and discounts available this week.
Getting Started With the New Content
Upon logging in, players receive an anonymous text message that spawns a golden A on the map. This marker begins a new mission chain involving Avi Schwartzman. At the same time, players also receive an email from Prix Luxury Real Estate, granting access to a new website where luxury mansions can be purchased.
Three New Mansions Available to Buy
The update introduces three purchasable mansions, each offering extensive customization options:
- Tongva Estates – $11.5 million
An upgraded version of Devin Weston’s former mansion. - Vinewood Residence – $12.2 million
Located near the iconic Vinewood sign. - Richman Villa – $12.8 million
Situated next to Miguel Madrazo’s house.
Players can own all three properties, but customization costs can add up to an additional $5 million per mansion.
Mansion Features and Upgrades
Mansions come with a wide range of functional and cosmetic options, including:
- Interior décor, tint patterns, and artwork
- Optional rooms such as an armory, arcade extension, vehicle workshop, and a display podium for a showcase car
- A multi-level 20-car garage
- Free snacks throughout the property
- Rooftop helipad with direct entry and exit
Security and Business Management Bonuses
Hiring mansion security provides a significant passive benefit. For businesses without security upgrades, raid chances are reduced. For businesses that already have security, raids are completely prevented.
Players can also hire one of three AI assistants—Angel, Haviland, or OG—who help manage businesses through a master control terminal inside the mansion. From here, players can fast travel to businesses or temporarily boost production.
Michael’s Appearance and Mansion Personalization
After purchasing a mansion, Michael and Amanda arrive to welcome the player, followed by a short narrative sequence involving Mr. Faber. Players can then freely explore and personalize their home.
Customization includes community-made artwork, references to other Rockstar titles, trophy displays, career plaques, pets such as cats and dogs, and lifestyle activities like working out, yoga, and sauna use. Mansions also feature an in-house barber and tattoo artist.
New Mission Chain With Avi Schwartzman
A new chain of five missions is available via the golden A on the map. These missions do not require mansion ownership and involve targeting the company KnoWay through a series of payphone-style assignments.
- Base payout: ~20,000 GTA$ per mission
- First-time completion bonus: 250,000 GTA$
After completing all five missions, players who own a mansion unlock a final bonus mission that concludes at their property and features Michael’s return. Completing this finale rewards a one-time bonus of 500,000 GTA$.
New Vehicles and Mission Creator
Three new vehicles are currently available, with more expected in the coming weeks. The update also introduces an expanded Mission Creator, offering deeper tools, object placement, and even custom cutscenes, opening new possibilities for community-created content.
Weekly Bonuses and Discounts
This week’s event bonuses include:
- 2x rewards on Meth Sell Missions

A Feature-Rich Update for High-End Players
A Safehouse in the Hills is a content-heavy update that leans into luxury, quality-of-life improvements, and narrative callbacks. While the new missions won’t recoup mansion costs, the added security bonuses, business tools, and customization options make these properties some of the most feature-rich in GTA Online to date.
