Embark Studios is inviting players to help steer the future of ARC Raiders through a new survey focused on map-specific experiences and in-game playstyles. The move comes six weeks after launch, following strong engagement and a rapidly growing player base, as the studio begins collecting structured insights to guide upcoming content and design adjustments.
What the Survey Covers
The survey asks players to evaluate all available maps using simple impressions — like, neutral, or dislike. Alongside this, participants are asked how frequently they engage in a range of playstyles, including stealth routes, PvP engagements, loot-focused expeditions, social play, and ambush tactics.
To ensure responses come from players with hands-on experience, participants must log in with their Embark ID, which verifies eligibility and confirms that all current maps — including Stella Montis — have been played.
Player Requirements and Reported Issues
Players must have completed every map released so far to participate. This includes Stella Montis, the most recent addition unlocked during a community donation event in the game’s second week.
Some users have reported that the survey occasionally closes prematurely with a message indicating a “maximum number of responses.” Embark Studios has not addressed these reports yet, leaving the cause of the issue unclear.
How ARC Raiders’ Maps Have Evolved
The survey arrives at a pivotal moment in the game’s development. ARC Raiders originated in 2021 as a cooperative shooter but struggled to capture a compelling gameplay loop. Embark later shifted the project into a PvPvE extraction shooter, leading to a noticeable evolution in map design.
- Spaceport and Dam Battlegrounds, built during the original co-op phase, retain elements of that earlier design philosophy, resulting in layouts that can feel different from newer arenas.
- Blue Gate, Buried City, and Stella Montis were created after the pivot and lean more into the tension and unpredictability of PvP interactions.
- Stella Montis, in particular, has drawn attention for its dense indoor environments, which push players into close-quarters PvP engagements unlike any other map in the rotation.
This contrast in design eras gives Embark valuable insight into how players adapt to varying combat spaces and what direction they may prefer moving forward.
Embark’s Strategic Goal
By collecting detailed, verified player feedback, Embark Studios aims to refine future map development and ensure updates align with real player behavior. The studio appears committed to leveraging its early momentum by shaping ARC Raiders around the emerging trends, preferences, and playstyles of its community.
As players continue experimenting with varied approaches — from stealth to ambushes to social encounters — Embark now seeks to capture that diversity directly to inform the next steps in the game’s evolution.
