Pokémon GO is gearing up for its next major live event, Wild Area: Nagasaki, set to take place from November 7 to November 9, 2025. Following the success of recent in-game celebrations like the Halloween event that introduced Poltchageist and Sinistcha, Niantic is turning its attention to Japan for a new city-wide experience centered around Dark and Fairy-type Pokémon.
A Dark and Fairy-Themed Adventure
This year’s Wild Area event invites players to align with one of two types — Dark or Fairy — each offering unique Special Research missions and themed rewards. Participants who complete their chosen research line will earn exclusive bonuses:
- Dark-Type Rewards: +1 Candy XL and 1,000 additional Stardust for each Dark-type mighty Pokémon caught (Level 31+).
- Fairy-Type Rewards: +1 Candy XL and 1,000 additional Stardust for each Fairy-type mighty Pokémon caught (Level 31+).
Players attending the event in Nagasaki will also be able to collect in-game stamps through the Pokémon GO Stamp Rally, encouraging exploration of the city’s iconic locations.
Exclusive Debuts and Special Encounters
Wild Area: Nagasaki will feature several major debuts, including the long-awaited arrival of Gigantamax Grimmsnarl, marking the first time a Gigantamax form has appeared in Pokémon GO. In addition, several new Shiny Pokémon will make their debut during the event, including:
- Shiny Unown-K
- Shiny Unown-W
- Shiny Hatenna
- Shiny Impidimp
Players can also encounter Shadow Darkrai and Shadow Cresselia in special Shadow Raids, offering a challenge for veteran trainers seeking rare catches.
Event Bonuses and Cosmetics
In addition to Pokémon spawns, the Wild Area event introduces several exclusive features and items:
- GO Wild Area Supply Balloons: Special balloons dropping GO Safari Balls during the event.
- Global Ticket Bonus: Players purchasing the global ticket will receive a Flower Crown avatar item.
- New Cosmetics: Themed avatar items including the Bewear Onesie, Morgrem Hairstyle, and a new avatar pose will be available.
Tickets and add-ons will remain purchasable until the end of the event on November 9.
A Busy Schedule for Pokémon GO Fans
Niantic continues to roll out a packed schedule for Pokémon GO fans as 2025 comes to a close. Alongside the Wild Area event, the game is running a special collaboration with the Pokémon Trading Card Game, featuring new Special Research tasks and Mega Lucario Raids. Later in November, players can look forward to the Enchanted Hollow event, which introduces new Pokémon like Tarountula and Spidops.
With Gigantamax forms, new Shinies, and exclusive in-person activities, Pokémon GO’s Wild Area: Nagasaki event is shaping up to be one of the year’s most exciting celebrations for trainers around the world.
