Niantic has officially announced the return of the Psychic Spectacular event in Pokémon GO, set to run from September 16 at 10 am to September 21 at 8 pm local time. This year’s edition, called Psychic Spectacular: Taken Over, introduces Indeedee, a Generation 8 Pokémon making its first appearance in the game.
Indeedee Joins Pokémon GO
Indeedee, first introduced in Pokémon Sword and Shield, is a Psychic/Normal-type Pokémon with gender-based differences in appearance. Males feature upright spiral horns and a serious expression, while females have downward horns and softer eyes. Known for using its horns to sense emotions and serve others, Indeedee will be available from 5 km eggs during the event, with a chance to hatch as shiny.
Event Bonuses
During the event, trainers will enjoy the following perks:
- Additional Candy for Nice Throws or better
- 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in an Incubator during the event period
- Increased chance for Candy XL from Nice Throws or better for Trainers level 31+
- Lunatone and Solrock spawning worldwide
- Team GO Rocket appearing more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons*
- Ability to use a Charged TM to remove Frustration from Shadow Pokémon*

Special and Timed Research
A new Special Research will be available until December 2, 2025, granting a Super Rocket Radar to track Giovanni and rescue Shadow Incarnate Forme Tornadus. Players will also encounter updated Team GO Rocket lineups, with Shadow Qwilfish, Shadow Swablu, Shadow Baltoy, and Shadow Deino added to the roster.
For those seeking extra rewards, a Paid Timed Research will be available for $4.99, offering:
- Two Premium Battle Passes
- One Super Rocket Radar
- Encounters with Ralts, Gothita, Wyrdeer, and more
This Timed Research must be completed before September 21 at 11:59 pm local time.
New Field Research and Ticketed Options
