Nintendo has confirmed that Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm & Exercise will be removed from the Nintendo eShop in the UK on November 28, 2025. The delisting affects both the full game and its demo version. Players who already own the digital title will still be able to re-download it and apply updates, but it will no longer be available for new purchases.
At this time, the U.S. and Japan eShop listings do not show the same removal notice. However, this situation mirrors the first Fitness Boxing game, which was eventually delisted in all regions after initially only being announced for removal in specific territories.
Nintendo has not provided an official explanation for the delisting, but expiring music licenses are the most likely reason given the game’s heavy use of popular tracks.
A Look Back at Fitness Boxing 2’s Success
Released in December 2020, Fitness Boxing 2 quickly gained traction, selling over 500,000 units in its first month. Just weeks after launch, Nintendo supported the title with additional DLC packs, beginning in January 2021.
The game blended boxing-inspired workout routines with hit songs from major artists such as Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, and Marshmello. Over the years, Nintendo released both free and paid DLC, including the 2023 “No Mercy” intensity pack and surprise content drops featuring new music and workouts.
The Future of the Fitness Boxing Series
While Fitness Boxing never reached the same level of popularity as Wii Fit, the series has carved out a niche with unique collaborations and sequels.
- Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star launched in March 2023, letting players work out alongside iconic characters from the classic manga and anime.
- Fitness Boxing feat. Hatsune Miku followed in September 2024, bringing the virtual idol into the fitness game space.
- Fitness Boxing 3 arrived in December 2024, with its first DLC pack releasing in July 2025. This expansion featured tracks from well-known anime series, including Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory/Premature Death.
With Fitness Boxing 3 now leading the series, the removal of Fitness Boxing 2 marks the end of an era for fans who enjoyed its original workout routines and music lineup. Those wanting to secure a digital copy may need to act quickly before the delisting date.
