RuneScape players, it’s time to sharpen your tools and stock up on supplies—Double XP LIVE is officially back! Starting Friday, May 16, the popular 10-day event gives players a chance to supercharge their skilling efforts with up to 48 hours of Double XP that can be activated at any time during the event window.
The event will run until Monday, May 26 at 12:00 GMT, giving players more than a week to make the most of their boosted gains. Whether you’re pushing for 99s or working on endgame content, this is your chance to speed up progress across the board.
What’s Boosted?
- Members get a +100% XP boost to most activities.
- Free-to-play players still benefit from a +20% XP increase.
- Bonus XP stacks with the Double XP LIVE boost, meaning members with Bonus XP saved up can earn a whopping +200% XP total on select skills.
Notable Exceptions
As always, the Double XP event has a few restrictions:
- No boosts for quest rewards, XP lamps, tomes, or ancient effigies.
- Some skilling tools like brawling gloves and POH altars are also excluded.
- Ironman accounts do not receive any Double XP bonuses.
Skill-Specific Perks
- Invention gets a 150% XP boost from item creation and disassembly (excluding siphoning and some equipment).
- Archaeology sees Precision doubled, and Excavation & Screening XP fully boosted. However, restoring artifacts doesn’t receive the bonus.
Smart Grinding Tips
Use portable skilling stations, plan for high-resource skills like Herblore or Construction, and pace yourself. Since the timer only ticks down while you’re logged in, there’s no pressure to grind nonstop. Log in, make progress, and log out to preserve your time as needed.
