GTA 6 Trailer Showcases Stunning Visuals on Base PS5 Hardware

Rockstar Games has released a new trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, and it’s causing a stir for more than just its explosive action and Vice City nostalgia. According to Rockstar, the entire trailer was captured on a base PlayStation 5, not the Pro model — and the results are nothing short of stunning.

The trailer showcases a mix of cutscenes and gameplay that seamlessly blend together, giving fans a deeper look at the upcoming title’s graphics, lighting, and environmental detail. From sun-soaked beaches to chaotic street scenes, the level of realism achieved on current-gen hardware is impressive — especially considering it’s not even running on the upgraded PS5 Pro.

Set in the fictional state of Leonida, clearly inspired by Florida, the game follows dual protagonists Lucia and Jason, a crime duo reminiscent of Bonnie and Clyde. Their story plays out in a vibrant, modern-day Vice City packed with high-speed chases, shootouts, and an unmistakably 2020s social media flair.

What stands out even more is how well the game performs visually without relying on enhanced consoles. It signals Rockstar’s confidence in their optimization and engine capability — a reassurance for players worried about needing upgraded hardware.

GTA VI is scheduled for release in 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC version hasn’t been confirmed yet, but given Rockstar’s history, it’s likely to follow at a later date.

Stay tuned for more coverage as we inch closer to the most anticipated release in Rockstar’s history.
