Botanicula Confirmed as Epic Games Store Free Game for April 17

The Epic Games Store has officially confirmed Botanicula as the free game of the week, available from Thursday, April 17 to April 24. This announcement clears up the confusion from last week’s update, which originally omitted a dedicated free game for the upcoming period.

Developed by Amanita Design, Botanicula is a whimsical point-and-click adventure centered on five quirky tree creatures trying to save the last seed of their home. Originally released in 2012 to positive reviews, the game only arrived on the Epic Games Store in 2023, making this its first appearance as a weekly freebie.

Epic Games Store Freebies This Week (April 17 – April 24):

  • Botanicula (PC Game)
  • Firestone Online Idle RPG Free Content Pack
    • Exclusive skin “The Legendary Hoplite” for Boris
    • 2 Character profile avatars
    • 10 Common chests (with at least 1 piece of Hero gear each)
    • 5 Uncommon chests (with at least 1 piece of Uncommon gear each)
    • 10 Wooden chests (with at least 1 Hero jewel each)
    • 5 Iron chests (with at least 1 Uncommon jewel each)
    • 360 Strange Dust (for training Guardians or conducting experiments)
    • 50 Scrolls (for stat enhancement)
    • 35 Game tokens (for Tavern activities)
    • 5 Prestige tokens (for EPIC prestiges)
    • 200 Gems

While PC players now have Botanicula to look forward to, mobile users can still claim two free mobile offerings through the Epic Games Store app:

Epic Games Store Free Mobile Games (until April 17):

  • Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead
  • Astarion’s Champions of Renown Pack (also available on PC)

The Epic Games Store typically announces its next set of free PC titles a week in advance, so users can expect details about the April 24 lineup once Botanicula goes live. However, free mobile game announcements remain unpredictable and are released without advance notice.

Stay tuned for updates on next week’s freebies and make sure to grab this week’s offers before April 17 at 10am CT.
