Niantic has officially launched the GO Pass: April event in Pokémon GO, offering players a new way to earn in-game rewards from April 1 through May 6, 2025. The new system introduces a two-track progression path — a free tier and a paid “Deluxe” tier — allowing trainers to unlock items by completing daily and weekly tasks.
Free vs. Deluxe: What’s the Difference?
While all trainers can participate in the free GO Pass track, the Deluxe version is a paid upgrade priced at $7.99 USD. Deluxe players gain access to exclusive rewards such as:
- A Lucky Trinket, which grants one guaranteed Lucky Friend interaction.
- Premium Battle Passes
- Incense, Lure Modules, Lucky Egg, and Incubators
- Candy XL
- Bonus Pokémon encounters
The Lucky Trinket is a limited-time item that expires on May 11 at 11:59 p.m. local time, making it a key incentive for Deluxe players.
Earning GO Points: Daily & Weekly Tasks
Players earn GO Points by completing various in-game challenges, including:
- Daily Task: Catch 15 Pokémon (100 GO Points)
- Weekly Tasks:
- Catch 75 Pokémon (200 Points)
- Win a raid (150 Points)
- Make 20 Great Throws (150 Points)
- Hatch 3 Eggs (150 Points)
- Spin 25 PokéStops/Gyms (100 Points)
- Use 20 Berries (100 Points)
- Earn 10 Buddy Hearts (150 Points)
Additionally, players earn smaller bonuses such as:
- 5 Points for catching a Pokémon
- 40 Points for hatching an Egg
- 150 Points for catching a Legendary Pokémon or Ultra Beast
Rewards Must Be Claimed in Time
Regardless of which path you’re on, all GO Pass rewards must be claimed by May 8, 2025, or they’ll be lost. This includes both free and Deluxe rewards, so players are encouraged to check their progress regularly before the deadline.
Limited-Time Feature Still in Testing
It’s worth noting that the GO Pass is currently a test feature and may not be available in all regions. Niantic is evaluating community feedback during the trial run and may make adjustments or roll it out globally based on participation and player response.
