To improve security and protect our community, GamingHQ has introduced a new form-based entry system for its Discord server. This system requires new members to answer a few simple questions before gaining access, ensuring that only genuine players and community members can join.
This first step helps filter out spammers, trolls, and bad actors while maintaining an engaging and enjoyable space for real gamers.
Why This Change?
Recent incidents have highlighted the growing need for stronger moderation tools in online communities. One such example is the Xbox Game Pass scandal, where bots and fraudulent accounts flooded users their chat with our community name and a fake price to win. Situations like these serve as a reminder that without proper security measures, gaming communities can become a target for abuse.

Another good example is that this also will tackle the issue with random users joining, that spam the heck out of your channels.
Here at GamingHQ, we want to stay ahead of these issues, preventing bad actors from taking advantage of our platform and ensuring that discussions remain focused on gaming, strategy, and community engagement—without the interference of spam accounts or disruptive behavior.
This situation made it clear that stricter entry requirements are necessary to prevent spammers and impersonators from infiltrating our community. By adding this new verification system, we’re taking control of who enters the server, ensuring that only real, engaged members can participate.
What’s Next?
This new entry system is just the first step. More improvements are on the way, including:
- Stronger moderation tools to prevent abuse
- Better role management for a structured community experience
- Additional security measures to keep GamingHQ a safe and trusted space for gamers
We appreciate everyone’s support and patience as we continue to improve and protect our community. Stay tuned—more updates coming soon!
