Call of Duty fans have a fresh opportunity to rack up experience points as Activision launches a brand-new Double XP event across Black Ops 6 and Warzone. This limited-time promotion, which started on February 6, 2025, will run until February 10, giving players a few days to level up their accounts, weapons, and GobbleGum collection at double the usual rate.
Double XP Returns After Unexpected Cancellation
Double XP weekends have long been a staple of the Call of Duty franchise, offering a valuable opportunity to progress faster in multiplayer and Zombies modes. While Black Ops 6 Season 2 initially introduced a similar XP boost in late January, that event was abruptly cut short without prior notice. However, Activision has now made up for it by launching this new event, which spans across both Black Ops 6 and Warzone.
During the event, players can take advantage of double XP in core multiplayer modes, Warzone matches, and the Zombies mode in Black Ops 6, where GobbleGum acquisition rates are also doubled.
Free Black Ops 6 Trial Runs Alongside XP Event
Coinciding with the XP boost, Activision has also kicked off a free trial period for select Black Ops 6 multiplayer modes and maps. From February 6 to February 10, players can access the following modes and playlists without purchasing the game:
- Multiplayer Modes: Nuketown 24/7, Stakeout 24/7, Overdrive, Gunfight, Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, Domination, Kill Confirmed, and Kill Order.
- Zombies: The Tomb (Standard) and Liberty Falls (Standard + Directed Mode).
This allows newcomers to experience the latest Call of Duty title while benefiting from the ongoing Double XP boost.
New Terminator-Themed Event Brings Exclusive Rewards
Adding even more content to the mix, Call of Duty has introduced a Terminator-themed event that runs until February 20. Players can earn Skulls by playing matches, which can be redeemed for a variety of rewards, including:
- Scanning Emblem
- Reactive Armor Perk
- War Machine Scorestreak
- Ocular System Weapon Charm
- Double Weapon XP Token (usable after the current XP event ends)
Shadow Hunt Event Coming Soon
Looking ahead, Activision has confirmed that a Shadow Hunt event is set to begin on February 13. This event will offer up to seven rewards for players who complete specific challenges, including the TR2 Marksman Rifle and the Tanto .22 Binary Trigger Fire Mod.
With Black Ops 6 Season 2 in full swing, these back-to-back events ensure players have plenty to grind for in the coming weeks. Whether you’re leveling up during the Double XP weekend, testing Black Ops 6 in its free trial, or hunting for exclusive event rewards, there’s no shortage of action in Call of Duty this February.
