Treyarch Unveils Citadel de More Map for Black Ops 6 Zombies DLC 1: Release Date and Details

Treyarch has officially revealed the logo and release date for Citadel de More, the first Zombies map in Black Ops 6‘s DLC 1, set to launch alongside Season 1 Reloaded. This much-anticipated map will arrive on December 5, 2024, earlier than the originally speculated December 11th date.

Logo and Thematic Hints

The logo for Citadel de More features an ornate design with the letter “I” stylized as the hilt of a sword. This strongly suggests the inclusion of a Sword Wonder Weapon, potentially one of the most exciting additions to Zombies in recent years. Teasers also showcase a blood-splattered motif, adding to the medieval horror aesthetic.

Wonder Weapons: Umbra Blades

According to credible leaks, Citadel de More will feature four variants of the Umbra Blade, a Wonder Weapon that could offer elemental abilities. This information aligns with hints shared by Treyarch, including cross-sword emojis in promotional posts. The concept of elemental Wonder Weapon swords hasn’t been seen in Zombies for years, and this addition could elevate the map’s gameplay.

New Features and Perks

The DLC promises a wealth of new content:

  • Perks: Leaks suggest the inclusion of either Vulture Aid, Death Perception, or Tombstone. Vulture Aid‘s return would be particularly exciting, as it hasn’t been seen since Black Ops 2: Buried. However, Death Perception seems more likely due to its reappearance in Cold War Zombies.
  • Field Upgrades and Ammo Mods: A possible return of Tesla Storm and a new ammo mod named Light Ray hint at diverse gameplay mechanics. The exact effects of Light Ray remain unknown, sparking speculation among fans.
  • GobbleGums: The roadmap confirms three new GobbleGums, including a whimsical, an ultra, and a rare variant. Could this include a long-awaited return of Shopping Free? Time will tell.

New Enemy Type: Ghoulish Horror

A silhouette of a new zombie type described as a “ghoulish horror” has been shared, adding an extra layer of intrigue. While its exact role in Citadel de More is unclear, it could feature variations, much like prior enemy designs. Some fans speculate it might connect to similar enemies seen in the Black Ops 6 campaign mission “Emergence.”

Release and Marketing

As marketing ramps up, players can expect trailers and additional reveals in the coming weeks. With only two weeks until launch, excitement is reaching a fever pitch for what could be one of the most well-received Zombies maps in recent history.
