In Palia, building romantic relationships with certain NPCs can add depth to your gameplay, giving you a closer connection to the characters and the world of Palia. This guide walks you through each step to establish a romance with a character, from raising friendship levels to completing romance quests.
Step 1: Building Friendship
To start a romantic relationship, you’ll first need to increase your friendship level with a character. Here’s how to grow your bond:
- Daily Conversations: Talk to the NPC once each day. Friendship points are awarded only once per real-world hour, so multiple conversations in the same hour won’t increase points.
- Gifting: Each NPC has preferred gifts that increase friendship. Click on the gift icon on the left side of the dialogue box to view their weekly wants and loved gifts, then offer them to the character. Note: NPCs accept one gift per day.
- Completing Quests: Each character has specific quests that, once completed, help improve your friendship level.
Friendship is key to unlocking romance, so keep up these interactions until you reach level 3.
Step 2: Initiating Romance
Once your friendship level with a character reaches level 3, you’re ready to start a romance. To do this:
- Purchase a Box of Chocolates from Zeki’s shop.
- Gift the Chocolates to the character, signaling your interest in a romantic relationship.
You’ll now have access to additional romantic interactions with the character, such as flirting.
Step 3: Romance Options in Palia
At this very moment, there are currently 9 romanceable characters in Palia. You’re free to pursue any character from this list, regardless of gender or body type. More romance options may be added by the developers at Singularity6 in future updates.
