Tekken 8 Players Receive Apology Gift from Bandai Namco: Free Coins and Hoodie!

Tekken 8 players, rejoice! Starting from October 29 until November 26, Bandai Namco is giving away 500 Tekken Coins as part of an apology to all players. Just log in during this period to claim the coins, which amount to $5 USD in premium currency. These coins can be used in the Tekken Shop to buy exclusive in-game items, although they don’t quite cover the 600 coins required for the premium fight pass.

In addition to this free currency, the Tekken 8 update (Version 1.09.01) brings a free 30th-anniversary hoodie for all characters, available in the store right now. This gesture comes in response to player feedback over Bandai Namco’s handling of the Genmaji Temple stage DLC release.

Many players felt blindsided by the decision to price the new Genmaji Temple arena separately, especially since the beach stage released with Lidia didn’t carry an extra charge. The complimentary 500 coins essentially serve as a refund for those who bought the new stage while also giving all players some extra currency to enjoy. In response to community input, Bandai Namco also confirmed that Year 1 Pass holders will receive the next DLC stage at no extra cost, scheduled for release this Winter.

In other Tekken 8 news, Bandai Namco announced that they have removed a participant from the Tekken World Tour Finals for rule violations, showing a firm stance on upholding competitive integrity.
