7 Days 2 Die Guide – Getting/Crafting Armor

Sidenote: This Guide is outdated and is reworked. See the new Guide here.

Armor in 7 Days to Die can be either crafted or looted from Supply Crates and other containers. While you might find individual armor pieces like gloves or helmets, finding a complete set with the desired bonuses can be challenging.

Armor Crafting

At the game’s start, you can craft Primitive Armor using grass and wood, part of the tutorial quests. This initial set is essential but should be upgraded for better survival chances.

Raising Your Armor Skill

  • Armored Up Skill Magazines: Reading these magazines unlocks armor blueprints and increases their Quality (level).
    • Primitive Armor: Up to Quality 6 with 10 magazines.
    • Unlocking Blueprints: All armor blueprints at Quality 1 with 11 magazines, increasing Quality gradually to 6.
  • Crafting Materials: Iron, Leather, and an Armor Crafting Kit.

There are 16 armor sets in three categories: Light, Medium, and Heavy. Collecting a full set awards a Set Bonus for additional buffs, except for Primitive Armor.
